In the outdoor display area of the Ministry of National Defense at the 80th Anniversary of National Achievements Exhibition, there is a camouflage model simulating the Su-30MK2 fighter. This inflatable model has the same size as the Su-30MK2 fighter currently in service with the Vietnam People's Air Force. The Su-30MK2 model manufactured by Factory Z176, General Department of Defense Industry, has the task of camouflaging and deceiving enemy reconnaissance measures from the air, including electronic reconnaissance.
Along with the Su-30MK2 model are 5 types of missiles equipped for Vietnam's most modern multi-role fighter. These missiles are the foundation for the power of the "King Cobra" Su-30MK2 in all missions from air combat, ground attack to anti-ship. These five types of missiles include R-27ER1 air-to-air, Kh-31A air-to-ship, RVV-AE air-to-air, Kh-31P air-to-ground and R-27ET1 air-to-air. The Kh-31A air-to-ship missile is used to destroy destroyers operating independently as well as in attack groups (fleets), in simple and complex weather conditions, day and night.
Kh-31A weighs 605 kg, combat part weight 94.5 kg, length 4.7 m, diameter 0.36 m; has a maximum launch range of up to 50 - 70 km with a target with a 5,000 m2 reflective surface; 25 km with a target with a 500 m2 reflective surface. Another variant of the Kh-31 is the Kh-31P, which is tasked with ground attacks using a passive radio homing head used to destroy active radio radars that are part of short-, medium-, and long-range air defense missile systems, control, communication, and target designation equipment of automated air defense systems, as well as other types of ground radars in the 2 mm - 1 m wavelength range with all meteorological conditions. The Kh-31P missile is 4.7 m long, weighs 5.9 kg, has a warhead of 85 kg, a wing span of 1.11 m, and a diameter of 0.36 m. This missile has a maximum launch range of 110 km and a minimum of no less than 15 km.
Next is the R-27ER1 air-to-air missile, a missile with a semi-active radio homing head, used to destroy long-range air targets in all weather conditions and electronic suppression. The missile is 4,775 m long, weighs 350 kg, has a combat mass of 39 kg; maximum launch range is 70 km, minimum launch range is 0.5 km; target altitude is from 0.02 - 27 km; attacks in all directions. The RVV-AE air-to-air missile is designed to destroy airborne targets, including highly maneuverable fighter and attack aircraft. The missile can operate effectively day and night, in simple and complex weather conditions. The RVV-AE weighs 173 kg, the warhead weighs 22.5 kg, is 3.6 m long, and has a diameter of 0.2 m. This missile has a maximum launch range of 50 km.
The R-27ET1 air-to-air missile is an infrared homing missile used to destroy long-range aerial targets in all weather conditions and electronic suppression. The R-27ET1 is 4.49 m long, weighs 347 kg, the warhead weighs 39 kg, and has a wingspan of 0.972 m. The missile has a maximum launch range of 70 km and a minimum of 0.3 km.
