On June 26th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Chau Thanh District Police, Long An Province, announced that they are coordinating with relevant authorities to cordon off and examine the scene of a murder case in which a father-in-law used a hammer to bludgeon his son-in-law to death.

Trying to stop his son-in-law from beating his daughter, an elderly man used a hammer to kill his son-in-law (image 1).

Location where the incident occurred

According to initial information, at around 10 a.m. on the same day, Ms. NTH (50 years old) and her husband, Nguyen Van Day (54 years old), residing in Hamlet 5, Hiep Thanh Commune, Chau Thanh District, had a conflict that led to a physical altercation, during which Day beat Ms. H. Seeing this, Mr. Nguyen Van Khi (84 years old), Ms. H.'s father, ran in to intervene but was unsuccessful.

Then, Mr. Monkey grabbed a nearby hammer and struck Mr. Day multiple times on the head and neck, causing him to die on the spot.

Later, Mr. Monkey went to the police station to turn himself in.

The Chau Thanh District Police Investigation Agency has placed Mr. Nguyen Van Khi under temporary criminal detention to continue the investigation and handle the case according to regulations.
