Need to quickly fix the damage and degradation on National Highway 9

National Highway 9 from Dong Ha City to Lao Bao International Border Gate (Huong Hoa District) is over 83 km long. This is a vital traffic route on the East-West Economic Corridor. However, many sections of National Highway 9 have now suffered from subsidence and road surface damage, especially the sections passing through Dakrong District.

The road surface at many sections of National Highway 9 has sunk, peeled off, the gravel is deformed, the adhesion is loose, wavy, forming many high and low bumps, even quite deep small holes, making it difficult for people to travel and posing a potential risk of traffic accidents, especially at night.

Every day on National Highway 9, there are many people and vehicles participating in traffic, mainly cars, heavy trucks, passenger cars, and container trucks, causing the road surface to sink and become more and more damaged. Therefore, it is recommended that relevant agencies and units promptly repair and overcome the above situation to ensure traffic safety.
