When it rains, the road is even more damaged, with many potholes nearly 2 meters in diameter and more than 20 centimeters deep, making it even more difficult for people here to travel and do business. I hope the local government will soon find a solution to fix it.”

During the rainy season, this road has many potential traffic safety risks.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chiem in Vinh Tuong commune said that the road is damaged, so many students going to school during the rainy season often fall down, although they are not seriously injured, their clothes are wet, affecting their ability to go to school. Mr. Chiem suggested that the government should repair it to ensure traffic safety for people, especially students.

According to local residents, this road has been damaged for many years. The local government has repaired it many times, but it has not been long before it is damaged again, causing difficulties for travel. Local residents have also reported this issue during meetings with voters and the People's Councils at all levels.

Speaking to VNA reporters, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ke, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vi Thanh 1 Commune, informed that recently, the People's Committee of the commune has also received many complaints from local people about the damaged condition of the road, causing traffic safety problems for road users. However, at the time of the merger in the implementation of the 2-level local government, the commune has not been allocated funds for repairs.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Vi Thanh 1 Commune added that, in response to the people's complaints, more than 2 months ago, the People's Committee of the Commune sent a proposal to the Department of Construction of Can Tho City to soon arrange funds to repair the road. At the same time, the route mobilized businesses in the area to spread stones and temporarily patch damaged potholes to create conditions for people to travel.

This same leader, the City Department of Construction also responded to the Commune People's Committee, promptly arranging funds to repair the road as soon as possible to ensure travel for local people.
