Can Tho proposes to adjust the drawing schedule of Southern lottery

Can Tho City People's Committee agreed on the new drawing schedule, but proposed moving Lam Dong to the third day and considering the appropriate time to apply it to avoid wasting printed tickets.

Can Tho City People's Committee has just sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Finance to give comments on the lottery drawing schedule in the Southern region from January 1, 2026. Accordingly, the city has agreed on the lottery drawing schedule in the Southern region for the drawing schedule on Fridays and Saturdays.

Regarding the lottery drawing schedule on Wednesday (Dong Nai - Can Tho - Vinh Long - Lam Dong), the City People's Committee proposed the Ministry of Finance to move Lam Dong to Tuesday (Ho Chi Minh City - Ca Mau - Vinh Long).

The reason is that according to the current drawing schedule, on Wednesday there are three companies participating in the drawing including Dong Nai, Can Tho and Soc Trang. Meanwhile, it is expected that Can Tho (Soc Trang) will be moved to Friday and Vinh Long ( Tra Vinh ) will be included in the drawing on Wednesday.

On the other hand, adding Lam Dong (Dak Nong) to the Wednesday lottery, increasing the number of lottery companies to 4 on the same day, will greatly affect the consumption capacity and business efficiency, making it difficult to ensure the completion of the budget revenue estimate assigned to the company.

Furthermore, by moving Lam Dong to Tuesday, Lam Dong is still in the group with 1 drawing day with 4 participating companies, ensuring consistency with the drawing schedule on Wednesday.

For the expected drawing schedule on Tuesday, it is expected to include: Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh Long - Ca Mau, so Ca Mau will draw 2 days/week with 3 participating companies. Therefore, it is also appropriate for Ca Mau to have 1 drawing day with 4 participating companies.

Ho Chi Minh City draws lottery numbers 4 days a week but only has 1 drawing day with 4 participating companies, so adding 1 more drawing day with 4 participating units is appropriate.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Can Tho City also proposed that the Ministry of Finance consider the time to apply a new drawing schedule suitable to reality, to avoid waste due to changing the drawing date, printed lottery tickets will not be issued because currently some lottery companies have completed bidding or are bidding for printing to issue tickets for 2026.

Previously, the Ministry of Finance sent an official dispatch to lottery companies in the Southern region to seek opinions on the lottery drawing schedule from January 1, 2026. Comments must be sent to the Ministry before October 17 for the Ministry of Finance to consider and decide.
