Information from companies providing software and technology solutions shows that the demand for using electronic invoice software generated from cash registers has increased dramatically, 10-20 times compared to the same period last year. Because this type of invoice is created directly at the point of sale and connects data with the tax authority, it has been mandatory since June 1.
On the taxpayer side, many businesses are proactively learning how to deploy and implement electronic invoices in accordance with regulations, but are still hesitant. According to assessments from companies providing software and technology solutions, although the market is recording a strong increase in the use of electronic invoice software, many businesses are still not really ready to deploy due to concerns about the operating process and compliance with technical regulations according to Decree No. 70/2025/ND-CP. Because the cost of using electronic invoices is currently quite diverse, depending on the specific needs of each business, especially the frequency of issuing invoices, with a range from about 300,000 VND to more than 10 million VND/year. In case a business wants to invest in a complete cash register system, the cost can be up to 10 million VND, including hardware equipment (computer or POS machine, cash drawer) and integrated software for calculating money and issuing invoices. The main factor is that many traditional businesses, especially the elderly, are still confused when approaching new technology. Most of them are not familiar with how to operate software, digital signature process and sales management. Therefore, this is a certain barrier.
According to the general opinion from businesses and software and technology solution providers, there should be a roadmap to extend the application period from 3-6 months, so that businesses can adapt better.
