Currently, soil moisture in some areas of Hai Phong City is nearly saturated, so there is a high risk of landslides.

According to the Hai Phong Regional Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours (from 6:00 p.m. on July 20 to 6:00 p.m. on July 21), there has been moderate to heavy rain in Hai Phong city. In Cat Hai special zone (Cat Ba station 98.6mm), Cat Hai special zone (Cat Hai station 85mm); Vinh Bao commune (Vinh Bao station 35.2mm), Kien Hung commune (Tan Phong station 51.7mm), Phu Lien ward (Phu Lien station 37.6mm).

Soil moisture models show that some areas of Hai Phong city are nearly saturated (from 90-95%).

It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, in Hai Phong city area, there will continue to be rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 20-40mm, in some places over 50mm.

Therefore, there is a risk of landslides on the mountain slopes in Phu Lien ward, Cat Hai special zone and Do Son and Nam Do Son wards.

The center warns that the impact of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence caused by heavy rain or water flow can cause human casualties, collapse houses, and affect people's travel.
