Through the hotline of Bac Lieu Newspaper, Ms. TYN reported that she had just encountered a problem with counterfeit money. The story started when her son brought money home after school and asked his mother to exchange it for him to transfer to his account. She did not pay attention to the money her son gave her and put it in her wallet. When she went out for coffee with friends and took out the money to pay (200,000 VND), she was shocked to discover that it was counterfeit money.
When she got home, she asked her children and learned that they used a 500,000 VND bill to buy goods and received change in the form of a fake 200,000 VND bill. Because the children were young, they did not pay attention and did not have the experience to distinguish real money from fake money. Ms. YN worriedly said that it was clear that there were bad people who intentionally used fake money to exchange for people, especially the elderly, children, and students, because they knew that these people were less vigilant and did not have the experience to distinguish real money from fake money.
In contrast to the case of Ms. YN and her son, Mr. QT, a grocery store owner, was approached by two people who came to buy goods with counterfeit money. Mr. T. said that at that time, two people came to buy goods worth more than 150,000 VND, and they gave him a 500,000 VND bill. Due to carelessness, Mr. T. did not realize that the money was counterfeit. It was only when his son came home from work that he discovered it. Mr. T. said that they put pressure on him to buy the goods urgently, so he was careless. This is also a lesson learned.

Therefore, to be on the lookout for counterfeit money, currency experts say that counterfeit money today does not have the same security features as real money; if it does, it is only a simulation, the color may be lighter or darker than real money, the pattern is not as sharp and delicate as real money. In particular, you can feel real money and counterfeit money with your hand, because real money uses a lot of special technology to print. One of the simplest manual ways is to squeeze the bill tightly with your hand and then release it. For real money, when released, the bill does not wrinkle, and returns to its original flatness. As for counterfeit money, when squeezed and released, it is like a crushed piece of paper, without elasticity...
