Phung Hung - Tran Phu train street (Hoan Kiem and Ba Dinh districts, Hanoi ) is one of the favorite "virtual living" places for young people and international tourists.
From the afternoon and evening of June 14, this area once again witnessed an overload as crowds of people flocked in. Many foreign visitors did not hesitate to stand close to the tracks to take photos or sit and drink coffee, even posing despite the approaching train.
Despite orders to close or relocate, many coffee shops are still operating secretly. Some owners set up chairs right next to the rails, serving customers until authorities show up.
Late on June 14, traffic police and ward police were mobilized to check and warn. Hundreds of visitors were guided to leave the dangerous area.
In cases of intentional violations, stubbornly staying or continuing to do illegal business, the authorities have drawn up a record and required a commitment not to re-offend.
Before the police showed up, hundreds of tourists flocked to this street. They sat in cafes next to the tracks.
Police explain to a foreign tourist that they are not allowed to enter this area to avoid causing traffic insecurity.
Even outside the barrier, tourists still lingered to wait for the moment the train passed.
A representative of Traffic Police Team No. 1 said that the unit regularly increases patrols and controls on weekend evenings and during peak tourist seasons. The top goal is to ensure that no unfortunate accidents occur on the railway line passing through this residential area.
According to statistics from the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, in one month (from May 15 to June 14), the authorities handled 70 cases of violations of railway traffic safety.

The crowd was so large, and the train was approaching, so the police had a hard time getting all the tourists out.
A large crowd of people waited for the train to pass. The police had to assist the railway staff in setting up the barrier and ensuring safety.
Some tourists think that Hanoi needs to quickly have more night tourism services so that tourists have more options.
Samir Mehta, 38, an Indian tourist, said he learned about the railway cafe area through social media platforms. "When I arrived, I felt that everything was developing spontaneously, so the government's concern for tourist safety was justified," he said.
The male tourist also said that it would be great if this area had proper management or "some kind of plan to keep people safe". In addition, Hanoi also needs more tourist attractions and nighttime entertainment services if it wants to retain and increase spending from tourists.
