The peak of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods at the end of the year

(QNO) - The Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (Steering Committee 389) of Quang Nam province has just issued a peak plan to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2024.

Members of the Quang Nam Steering Committee 389 will coordinate to inspect, control, detect, combat, arrest, and handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods to prevent and repel smuggling activities and illegal transportation of goods across borders, border gates, and sea areas.

Deploy plans to increase forces and means of patrolling and strictly controlling border routes, road, rail, sea, air border gates, trails, openings, and goods gathering areas near the border to prevent prohibited goods, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods from being smuggled into the domestic market of the province and neighboring areas for consumption.

Strictly control wholesale markets, traditional markets, shopping malls, agents, grocery stores, e-commerce trading floors, social networking sites (zalo, facebook, tiktok...) for online trading, promptly detect and strictly handle acts of buying, selling, transporting prohibited goods, counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, goods violating intellectual property rights...

Focus on inspecting, controlling and strictly handling administrative violations of goods with high consumer demand during the end of the year and Lunar New Year such as confectionery, sugar, fruits, alcohol, cigarettes, new generation electronic cigarettes, soft drinks, electronics, refrigeration, clothing, footwear, firecrackers, fireworks of all kinds, animals and products processed from animals, fresh food, etc.

In particular, closely monitor the business activities of gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, and prevent speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases. Effectively apply information technology and coordinate the fight against and prevent the trading of prohibited goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights in the e-commerce environment.

Peak period is from now until February 29, 2024.
