District level completes historic mission

From July 1, 2025, the two-level local government model (provincial and communal levels) will come into operation. Thus, the district level across the country in general and in Lam Dong province in particular has completed its mission after contributing to the development of the provinces and the whole country.

• MANY ACHIEVEMENTS

Taking January 6, 1976 as the milestone, the Central Party Secretariat issued a Resolution on the merger of the two provinces of Lam Dong (old) and Tuyen Duc and Da Lat town into Lam Dong province, Lam Dong province had nearly 50 years of formation and development.

Over the past decades, districts and cities in Lam Dong province with their own characteristics and features have steered the boat of socio -economic development, localities have gradually developed and positioned themselves with their own characteristics. Da Lat affirms its position in flower and vegetable growing. Lam Ha district has the strength to develop industrial crops, mulberry growing, and silkworm raising. Don Duong has shaped itself with commercial vegetable growing. Da Huoai, Da Teh, Cat Tien have developed fruit growing areas, high-quality rice growing areas... And the development of the districts can be seen most clearly in Dam Rong, the "youngest child" of the Southern Central Highlands, just over 20 years old. With a starting point of almost zero, Dam Rong was once on the list of 62 poor districts nationwide. Dam Rong has gradually strived to get out of that list and gradually become rich. So now, the scale of Dam Rong's economy has reached 7,000 billion VND. Average income per capita reaches over 47 million VND/person/year. State budget revenue in 2024 reaches 83.5 billion VND...

It can be affirmed that throughout history, districts and cities in Lam Dong province have played a central role in implementing socio-economic development tasks, developing ethnic minority areas, building new rural areas, and maintaining national defense and security. The development of district-level units is an important foundation to create momentum for the development of the whole province, and is the decisive factor in making Lam Dong the leading province in the Central Highlands region.

• READY FOR NEW TASKS

In the past or present, districts in particular or Lam Dong province in general are closely tied to the flow of the country. Merging or dissolving districts in Lam Dong province is one of the proofs of that. At the end of 2024, according to Resolution No. 1245/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels in the period 2023 - 2025, Lam Dong is the pioneer province in the country to carry out this task and perform it at a difficult level when merging 3 southern districts of Lam Dong province including: Da Huoai, Da Teh, Cat Tien. The administrative apparatus of Da Huoai district works its best for the common development of Da Huoai district.

And now, when dissolving the district level and implementing a two-level government, Da Huoai district has also joined other districts and cities in the province in completing the dissolution of the district level, arranging and merging into communes. Announcing the personnel at the new communes in Da Huoai, comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee emphasized the great efforts and many achievements of the Party Committee and government of Da Huoai district over the past 40 years. Speaking when announcing the personnel of the new communes in Di Linh district, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Tran Hong Thai also emphasized: "This is the time to demonstrate the mettle and spirit of Party cadres - ready to go where the Party needs and the people need, no matter how difficult it is".

Districts and cities in Lam Dong province have completed their final tasks and closed the historic mission at the district level. With the emotions of this historic moment, the team of district-level cadres clearly identified their sense of responsibility, continued to actively contribute at the grassroots level, maintained their core force, and bridged the Party, government, and people in the communes and wards, and together created a new province, new communes, and new wards to overcome all difficulties and rise up strongly.
