All three teams in the October friendly series are considered to be of higher quality than the Vietnamese team, including China (ranked 80th in the world ), Uzbekistan (ranked 75th in the world) and South Korea (ranked 26th in the world).
Therefore, these are very high-quality matches in terms of expertise for the Vietnamese team in the final preparation stage before entering the 2026 World Cup qualifiers starting next November and the 2023 Asian Cup taking place early next year.
The Vietnamese team is persistently aiming for the top arena with a strategy of building its force by creating conditions for players to compete with the continent's top teams.
According to plan, the team will regroup in early November, after the players complete the third round of matches in the V-League 2023/24 season.
In this training session, coach Philippe Troussier and his team will visit the Philippines on November 16 and return home to host Iraq on November 21, within the framework of Group F of the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia.
Coach Philippe Troussier gave many words of encouragement to his students, especially to injured players like Que Ngoc Hai and Nguyen Quang Hai, and wished that this duo will soon return to wear the national team jersey.
He also advised the players to continue to practice hard when they return to the club to maintain their form for the upcoming important training session.
