Overseas Vietnamese player eliminated from Vietnam women's team for Asian Cup qualifiers

TPO - On June 26, the Vietnam women's team officially announced the list of 23 players participating in the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers.

Three players not on the list this time include: Nguyen Thi Kim Yen and overseas Vietnamese player Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi (Thong Nhat Sports Center), along with Ho Thi Thanh Thao (Than KSVN).

Before today's training session, Coach Mai Duc Chung reminded and encouraged the whole team to take care of their health, focus on eating, resting and living properly to have the best physical condition for the tournament.

In the following training session, the team continued to practice professional content such as set pieces, organizing serves to put pressure on opponents, and coordinating team tactics.

With a young force combined with experience and high determination, the Vietnamese women's team is aiming to win the top spot in the group to get a ticket to the final round.

The 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers officially kicked off on June 23 with the participation of 32 teams, divided into 8 groups competing in a round-robin format.

The top teams in each group will qualify for the finals, scheduled to be held in Australia in March 2026.

The Vietnamese women's team is in group E, will play at home in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ), against Maldives (June 29), UAE (July 2) and Guam (July 5).
