Nam Mi is not on the list of coaches Mai Duc Chung, however, the Canadian-born girl will practice with the Vietnam women's team while waiting to join the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Football Club.

Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi is the newest recruit of the Ho Chi Minh City football team. Born in 2003 in Saskatoon (Canada), Nam Mi's parents are both Vietnamese. Before returning home, Nam Mi played for the University of Saskatchewan. She also played for the U15 and U17 Canadian teams. Standing at 1m67 tall, Nam Mi's forte is the defensive midfielder position. According to FIFA regulations, although she has played for the Canadian youth teams, Nam Mi is still eligible to play for the Vietnamese women's national team.
Before Nam Mi, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Football Club also successfully recruited two other overseas Vietnamese players, Ashley Tram Anh and Chelsea Le. In addition, the southern team also added two foreign players to the squad, Maria Jamila Khan (Pakistan) and Sakura Yoshida (Japan).

This addition helps coach Doan Thi Kim Chi's team continue to hope to create more miracles in the semi-final match of the 2024/2025 AFC Champions League women's team against Wuhan Jiangda Club (China) which will take place on May 21.
As for the Vietnamese women's team, they will have 10 days to prepare for the international friendly match between the Vietnamese women's team and the Werder Bremen women's club (Germany). This international friendly match is part of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany. Previously, on May 12, the Vietnamese women's team was scheduled to have a friendly match with the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Football Club.

Next, the Vietnamese women's team will have a training trip in Japan from June 8 to June 18. After this overseas training trip, the Vietnamese women's team will continue to practice in Viet Tri (Phu Tho). Coach Mai Duc Chung's team will compete in Group E of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship Qualifiers from June 29 to July 5. The above matches are expected to take place in Vietnam.
