Overseas Vietnamese players may appear in the Vietnam women's football team

(Dan Tri) - Following the men's football team, the Vietnamese women's football team may have overseas Vietnamese players, before participating in the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers taking place next June.

The face most likely to wear the Vietnamese women's football team jersey in the near future is defensive midfielder Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi, currently playing for the Ho Chi Minh City women's football club.

This player is currently participating with the city team in the 2024-2025 AFC Women's Champions League. The HCMC women's club has reached the semi-finals, facing the home team Wuhan Jiangda (China). The semi-finals will take place on May 21, at the centralized competition venue of Wuhan (Hubei, China).

Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi was born in Ottawa (Canada), she is a student at the University of Saskatchewan, playing soccer in this North American country. Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi has both parents of Vietnamese origin. She plays as a central midfielder or center back, 1m67 tall.

In terms of playing style, thanks to growing up in Canadian football, one of the top women's football teams in the world (Canada won the 2020 Tokyo Olympics), Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi has a fairly modern playing style. In terms of physique, this Canadian-born girl also has a good physique compared to female players.

In addition, another advantage is that Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi already has Vietnamese nationality, she plays for Ho Chi Minh City Club as a domestic player, so wearing the Vietnamese women's team shirt in the near future will be very favorable.
