In addition to the yellow chrysanthemum, Ms. Nguyen's garden also has pots of chrysanthemums with colorful colors such as red, purple, orange, pink... According to Ms. Nguyen, these are Korean chrysanthemums that were very popular with buyers during Tet last year. "This year, Korean chrysanthemums are still loved by customers. Currently, I see that this type of flower is even... hotter than last year. Maybe because of the strange and beautiful color. Moreover, this year more people know about this type of flower so it sells quite well," Ms. Nguyen said.

“At this time, most people are just asking for prices but have not bought yet. These past few days, I have been selling a little bit, mainly to companies or coffee shops to decorate early to create a Tet atmosphere. This year, I only import a small quantity, not daring to buy a lot. For example, I only import a maximum of about 200 pots of chrysanthemums, more than half of what I bought many years ago. I have been selling ornamental plants here for many years, but since the year of the Covid-19 pandemic, people's demand for flowers for Tet has decreased,” the garden owner shared.
According to bonsai shop owners, currently most people are just checking prices and have not yet decided to buy much.

Plants that symbolize wealth, success, and luck such as silver dollar and poinsettia are also sold in large quantities at some ornamental plant stores on Thanh Thai Street. A male employee working at an ornamental plant store on Thanh Thai Street said that the ornamental plants for Tet this year, like every year, are mostly chrysanthemums, silver dollar and poinsettia. “After Christmas, the garden owner started importing ornamental plants for Tet. Prices are the same as every year. Yellow chrysanthemums cost 150,000 - 280,000 VND/pot, depending on the size; and the cheapest Korean chrysanthemum pot here is 220,000 VND. If you decorate it, the price will be higher,” said the male employee.
