Mr. Nghia said that this papaya tree was grown in the highlands of Sung Do commune (Van Chan district, Yen Bai), nearly 10 km from his house. However, it did not belong to him but to a villager.

"I also know about this papaya tree. I recently had the chance to pass by and saw a papaya tree with such a big trunk for the first time, so I recorded a clip and posted it online as a souvenir. I didn't think so many people would be interested in it," he said.

According to Mr. Nghia, the owner of the papaya tree, it is more than 10 years old, surviving many times the top was broken, so it grew into many branches. After asking around, he said the papaya tree bears fruit regularly, the fruit is delicious and sweet, and the tree's vitality is strong.

Mr. Quang Thuc, Mr. Nghia's friend who also appeared in the clip, also said he was extremely surprised when he first witnessed a papaya tree with such a "huge" trunk. The part he hugged was not the largest part of the trunk.
