On October 2, Tam Hiep A Primary School (Tam Hiep Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai ) reported a nearly 30-year-old soapberry tree being uprooted in the school grounds.
Accordingly, at around 6:30 p.m. on October 1, heavy rain and strong winds uprooted a 20-meter-tall, 1-meter-diameter acacia tree and fell onto the school yard. Fortunately, there were no students present at the time, only one car was damaged. Many teachers and parents were decorating the classrooms for the Mid-Autumn Festival, so they were safe.

Immediately after the incident, the school reported to the People's Committee of Tam Hiep ward, organized cleaning, and returned the yard to teaching use.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tan Trang, the school’s principal, said that there are about 20 mahogany and oil trees in the yard that have been planted for more than 20 years and are at risk of falling. The school has petitioned the ward People’s Committee to allow them to trim the canopy and reinforce the roots to ensure safety during the rainy and stormy season.
On the evening of October 1, many central wards of Bien Hoa City such as Tran Bien, Trang Dai, Tan Trieu, Tam Hiep, Long Binh experienced heavy rain and strong winds. According to the Dong Nai Province Hydrometeorological Station, the area will continue to have rain in the coming days, warning of the risk of landslides, flash floods and urban flooding.
