- Hello Trinh Lam Huy! How did you prepare to participate in the Vietnamese Music Star Contest?

Trinh Lam Huy : Since childhood, I have loved singing. I often participated in school cultural programs and Youth Union activities. When I learned about the Vietnamese Music Star Contest held in Ho Chi Minh City, I decided to register to participate, bringing all my passion and confidence.

During the competition, I also encountered many difficulties. First was the geographical distance, because I had to travel from Ca Mau to Ho Chi Minh City to take the competition. Besides, arranging time was also quite stressful, because I was studying Information Technology. There were times when studying and singing competitions overlapped, making me tired and stressed.

Before, I only sang in local art movements, so when I stepped onto the big stage, I found myself still limited compared to other contestants. There were times when I wanted to stop, but thanks to the encouragement of my family, teachers and friends, I regained my spirit and continued to try.

- What experience about stage and performance skills did the competition help you gain?

Trinh Lam Huy: Through each round of the competition, under the dedicated guidance of Singer Thai Hoang, Ms. Kim Thoa and the musicians in the Organizing Committee, I clearly felt my progress. I knew how to control the stage, express my emotions naturally, and was no longer as worried or nervous as before.
If before I only sang with talent and emotion, now I have learned how to combine technique and emotion, which helps my performance become much more complete.

Trinh Lam Huy is currently a second-year student, majoring in Information Technology, Binh Duong University Branch in Ca Mau.

I want to affirm that Ca Mau is not only famous for its specialties, traditional music or the generosity of its people, but also for its young people who dare to dream, are passionate about music and have the desire to go far. That is what motivated me to join the contest. Today, when I have achieved a little success, I feel very happy.

- In your opinion, what do young people in the West in general and Ca Mau in particular need to cultivate to pursue a musical career?

Trinh Lam Huy: I think besides talent, the most important thing is passion and perseverance. You need to be confident, dare to face challenges and always keep learning and practicing. With enough faith and effort, anyone can go all the way to their musical dream.

I see that Ca Mau has many young people with good voices, many of whom are truly talented. If you dare to pursue your passion and persevere in your training, I believe you can absolutely shine in your homeland, and even reach further on big stages.

Trinh Lam Huy tries hard to find a chance to shine on the big stage.

- After your initial success at Vietnamese Music Star, what are your plans to develop yourself and contribute to the arts of your home province?

Trinh Lam Huy : I have two more years to complete my university program. After the contest, I will continue to study, develop my singing ability, and participate in cultural activities and movements of the province.
After graduating, I plan to continue my studies at the conservatory for further training. I hope that in the future I can contribute to guiding and supporting young people who are passionate about music in my hometown, just like everyone has helped me today.

- Thank you! Good luck in the upcoming finals!
