Leaders of Military Region 9 and local authorities along with many local people attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

This is a program organized by the 925 National Defense Economic Group (Military Region 9) in coordination with local Party Committees and authorities. Each house is worth 66 million VND and is expected to be completed and handed over before Lunar New Year 2026.

In the Da Bac area, where the sea is closely linked to people's lives, income is still uncertain and unstable, so the dream of a solid roof was once a luxury for many poor households here. But today, that dream is gradually becoming a reality, starting with the affectionate companionship of the soldiers of Military Region 9.

Mr. Tran Thanh Tuan, Da Bac A hamlet, living in a temporary hut by the river, expressed his joy at receiving support to build a new house.

Mr. Tran Thanh Tuan, from Da Bac A hamlet, is in his late years and lives alone in a temporary hut by the river. With no land or stable job, he has been making a living by fishing along the canal in front of his house for many years. His makeshift house, built of rickety bamboo and wood, is exposed to the wind from all sides and is his only place to return to during many stormy seasons. When he heard that he was chosen as one of the first households to receive support to build a house, Mr. Tuan choked up: “I didn’t dare dream that one day I would be able to build a proper house like everyone else… Now that I hear that I will soon be able to build a solid house, I am so happy I can’t speak. Thank you so much, soldiers!”

Not only Mr. Tuan, Mr. Nguyen Cuu Quoc, who lives in the same hamlet, is also in a difficult situation. His family has no land for production and his dilapidated house has existed for many years without the ability to repair it. Every rainy season, the roof leaks, the walls rot, and the whole family has to move to a neighbor's house to avoid storms. Now, when he heard the news that he was considered for a new house, Mr. Quoc emotionally shared: "I was so happy that I couldn't sleep last night. For decades, I never thought my family would have a decent house."

This housing construction program is not only a social security activity but also a vivid symbol of the close bond between the army and the people, proving that the army always accompanies the people, especially in border areas and remote areas.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Minh Trieu, Deputy Commander of Military Region 9, emphasized: "Supporting the construction of houses for households in special difficulty not only helps people settle down and stabilize their lives, but is also a way for us to express our hearts as soldiers, always ready to sacrifice for the peace and happiness of the people."

It is expected that 124 houses will be completed before December 2025, so that people can welcome a full spring in their new homes. Each house is not only a place to shelter from the sun and rain, but also a place to nurture hope, adding motivation for poor households to work, produce and escape poverty sustainably.
