Helping children fulfill their dreams.

To help underprivileged and visually impaired students realize their dreams, many young people and university students are dedicating their hearts and compassion to opening free classes. They all hope that these classes will serve as a bridge to build knowledge, enabling these children to reach their dreams sooner and open up a higher and further horizon on their educational journey.

Nguyen Minh Xuan Thao (a student in class 22CNQTH02, International Studies major, University of Foreign Languages, Da Nang University), and also the Secretary of the An Thi 1 Youth Union (An Hai Nam ward, Son Tra district), expressed that, coming from a family with difficult circumstances, she has received a great deal of support and help from those around her since childhood.

Aware of this, Thao always strives to study hard to escape poverty and build her own dreams; at the same time, she understands that education is the fastest way for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to rise up and change their lives. Because only literacy can help them have a brighter future. For more than three years, at her family's house on Nguyen Cong Tru Street, Thao has dedicated her time and effort to running a free English class. Thao noticed that many students in the neighborhood are from difficult circumstances but lack the means and opportunities to access knowledge, especially foreign languages.

Initially, the class had two students, and now there are five. Every week, Thảo teaches two sessions, each lasting two hours, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and practicing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. “In this era of international integration, I believe equipping students with English skills is crucial. I hope this class will be a bridge of knowledge, helping them to study well and realize their dreams. Perhaps it will be the foundation and opportunity for them to confidently step into the international environment in the near future,” Thảo happily stated.

In the early days, during the introductory knowledge test, some students lacked basic English skills. Through lessons and mock exams in class and at school, the children gradually improved, achieving fairly good scores. To keep up with the latest knowledge and teaching methods, Thảo regularly reads professional books to make her teaching more effective.

Nguyen Thi Thu Quyen (8th grade, Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School), a member of the class, comes from a difficult family background and currently lives with her grandmother. Quyen said that after joining the class, she went from having a weak foundation in English to confidently communicating thanks to her diverse vocabulary. Quyen is happy that thanks to learning English from Ms. Thao, she is gradually painting a picture of her simple dreams for the future. She also hopes the class will continue so that she and her classmates have the opportunity to improve their English skills.

For Le Khac Tai (a student in class 22CDT3, majoring in Mechatronics), Head of the Teaching Team of the Social Work Unit at the University of Technology (Da Nang University), participating in free tutoring for visually impaired students at the Da Nang Center for Inclusive Education Development Support for over two years has been a beautiful memory. Every week, Tai teaches two evenings to visually impaired students residing at the center. The team teaches elementary school students (Mathematics and Vietnamese), middle school students, and high school students (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry).

This year, the class has three students preparing for the high school graduation exam. Therefore, the team is dedicating a lot of time to imparting knowledge and helping them confidently enter this important exam. According to Tài, in recent years, many students in the class have graduated from middle and high school at the same rate as their peers. This makes the whole team happy because they have been able to support them with knowledge, helping them reach their dreams sooner. At the same time, participating in teaching in the class has helped Tài appreciate what he has even more, respect differences, and spread love and positive energy.

Like Thao and Tai, for over four years, Pham Thi Nhat Nghi (32 years old, Thanh Khe district) has been teaching drawing at a free art class for underprivileged students in the Trung Binh A3 residential area (Thac Gian ward, Thanh Khe district). After graduating with a degree in interior design from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Nghi decided to return to her hometown of Da Nang to live and work. Thanks to Nghi's dedicated and loving teaching, many students quickly discovered their passion and devoted themselves to setting future goals through drawing. For Nghi, joy doesn't need to be grand or extravagant, but simply comes from small things and simple actions. Each day, the progress of her underprivileged students brings Nghi joy, adding to her love and motivation on her journey of nurturing dreams.
