Cut off a large drug shipment imported for Tet sale

On the afternoon of January 31, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Da Nang City Police temporarily detained Huynh Lai (26 years old) and Nguyen Quang Truong (23 years old, both residing in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City) to expand the investigation into the illegal buying and selling of drugs.

Previously, on the afternoon of January 28, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with Ngu Hanh Son District Police to raid Huynh Lai's house in Hoa Hai Ward, catching Lai red-handed hiding 1,000 ecstasy pills and 500 grams of Ketamine.

Surprised, Lai did not have time to dispose of the drugs in the restroom. He admitted that he had just bought the drugs from an unknown person in another province and brought them to Da Nang City to sell during Tet.

Expanding the investigation, late that same day, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department continued to arrest Nguyen Quang Truong and seized two packages of Ketamine trays (about 5 grams).

Truong admitted that Lai had delivered drugs to him twice to sell. In this network, Lai was the ringleader, specializing in buying large quantities of drugs from provinces in both the north and south.

However, Lai never sold retail or met buyers directly, but handed over all distribution to Truong. Truong was paid a monthly salary by Lai, with room and board, and an additional bonus if he sold large quantities of drugs.

Lai confessed that he often sold drugs at entertainment venues, or sold large quantities to many drug users. The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department is currently expanding its investigation into the case.
