Authorities intercepted a large shipment of drugs intended for sale during the Lunar New Year.

On the afternoon of January 31, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Da Nang City Police temporarily detained Huynh Lai (26 years old) and Nguyen Quang Truong (23 years old, both residing in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City) for further investigation into the illegal trafficking of narcotics.

Earlier, on the afternoon of January 28, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, in coordination with the Ngu Hanh Son District Police, raided Huynh Lai's house in Hoa Hai Ward, catching Lai red-handed hiding 1,000 ecstasy pills and 500 grams of ketamine.

Caught off guard, Lai didn't have time to dispose of the drugs in the toilet. He admitted that he had just bought the drugs from an unknown person in another province and brought them to Da Nang City to sell during the Tet holiday.

Expanding the investigation, late that same night, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department continued to arrest Nguyen Quang Truong, seizing 2 packages of ketamine (approximately 5 grams).

Huynh Lai led the drug trafficking ring.

Truong confessed that Lai had given him drugs to sell twice. In this drug ring, Lai was the suspected ringleader, specializing in purchasing large quantities of drugs from provinces and cities in both the north and the south.

However, Lai never sold retail or met buyers directly; instead, he entrusted all distribution to Truong. Lai paid Truong a monthly salary, provided him with food and accommodation, and gave him bonuses for selling large quantities of drugs.

Lai confessed to regularly selling drugs at entertainment venues, or selling large quantities to many drug users. The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department is currently expanding its investigation into the case.
