(VLO) On the morning of June 17, the provincial Department of Health organized a session to share experiences on the family doctor clinic model. Many experts in the field of family doctor training attended.
Attending the sharing session, medical staff in the province learned about the family medicine clinic model; training in family medicine and related certificates.
At the same time, experiences, difficulties, problems and solutions in the process of implementing the family doctor clinic model in some localities were shared.
Family physicians are general practitioners who practice, provide comprehensive and continuous care for patients, and are the doctors closest to the people.
In Vinh Long , non-communicable diseases still account for a high proportion in the disease model, accounting for about 60% of medical examinations and treatments in the whole province.
The implementation of the family doctor clinic model is extremely necessary to promptly meet the health care needs of people in the province in the coming period.
Accordingly, the province is developing a project and will pilot, replicate and develop the family doctor clinic model across the province to provide basic, comprehensive and continuous health care services for individuals, families and communities, contributing to improving the quality of primary health care and reducing patient overload for medical examination and treatment facilities.
