The cake is made from "huge" ingredients: 4,000 eggs, 350kg of fresh strawberries, 150kg of sugar and 415kg of fresh cream.
All local produce, delivered by the truckload. This is the longest strawberry cake ever made in the world.
Set Guinness World Record
The man behind this impressive success is Youssef El Gatou - a talented and passionate chef.
Together with 20 colleagues, he turned the ice rink in the town of Argenteuil (suburbs of Paris) into a giant "pastry factory", where the cake is completed after a week of continuous work.
With an impressive length of 121.8m, this record officially broke the 100.48m long strawberry cake made in the Italian town of San Mauro Torinese in 2019.

“I have had this dream since I was a child,” El Gatou said. “I wanted to create a cake with a strong French influence, honoring the agricultural products of my homeland, especially strawberries and dairy products such as cream and butter.”
To qualify for the Guinness World Record, the cake needed to be at least 8cm wide and 8cm high. According to the chef's wife, Nadia El Gatou, the process was so difficult that they had to use a blowtorch to heat up the mixing bowl.

Argenteuil residents who come to admire the cake all receive a piece of cake to take home, as a small gift containing the sweetness of dreams and the belief that any dream, no matter how seemingly unrealistic, can come true.
The giant strawberry cake is not only a living testament to the pinnacle of French pastry art, but also a strong affirmation of the solid position of French cuisine on the world map.
