On the afternoon of June 6, the Vietnamese team had its first training session to prepare for international friendly matches during FIFA Days in June.
In this training session, coach Philippe Troussier only had 25 players because Quang Hai, Cong Phuong, Van Toan had not yet joined the team and some other players were busy competing in round 11 of V-League 2023.
Because he just returned home on June 5, Quang Hai was given extra rest by the French coach.
Quang Hai took advantage of this time to go to Ho Chi Minh City to congratulate a brother on the opening of a car showroom. The 2018 Vietnam Golden Ball is expected to join his teammates in training on the afternoon of June 7.
Currently, Quang Hai's future is of interest to many people after he and Pau FC reached an agreement to terminate his contract one year ahead of schedule.
The midfielder born in 1997 is said to be preparing to join the Hanoi Police Club, but both sides have yet to confirm.
Quang Hai's representative said he will go on summer vacation with his family after the Vietnam national team's training session ends and then discuss work.

According to the plan, Cong Phuong will join the Vietnam team on June 10. It was not until June 12, when Van Toan returned home, that coach Philippe Troussier had the full squad in the call-up list.
On the first day of the meeting, the Vietnamese team underwent a medical examination. Defender Nguyen Phong Hong Duy was injured in the match between Nam Dinh and Hanoi FC in round 11 of V-League 2023 on June 4, so coach Philippe Troussier sent him back to the club for treatment.
According to the plan, in the first training phase from June 6-13, coach Philippe Troussier will let the Vietnam team and U23 Vietnam practice with the same training program.
After that, he will select about 26 players for the friendly match with Hong Kong (China) on June 15 at Lach Tray Stadium, Hai Phong.
The group of players not selected to compete with Hong Kong (China) continued to stay and practice and participate in two matches with Hanoi Police (June 14) and Hai Phong (June 17).
Coach Philippe Troussier will evaluate the players' performance to decide on the lineup for the match against Syria on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh.
