Proactively prepare for disaster prevention and control during the rainy and stormy season

Currently, the 2025 rainy and stormy season is about to begin, the weather is changing, with frequent occurrences of thunderstorms, hail, and gusts of wind. This year's rainy and stormy season is forecast to be complex and unpredictable, especially with dangerous weather phenomena such as storms, heavy rains, floods, flash floods, and landslides.

To proactively prepare for natural disaster prevention and control in the 2025 rainy and stormy season, minimizing damage caused by natural disasters, the Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch requesting agencies, units and localities to urgently review and consolidate the Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue at all levels, sectors and localities to unify the direction and implementation of natural disaster prevention and control tasks; assign specific tasks to each member in charge of each locality, key and vulnerable area, ensuring the information reporting regime.

Organize review and update of disaster response plans and options according to disaster risk levels; focus on preparing for the 2025 storm season according to the "4 on-site" motto.

Based on the disaster prevention and control plan and disaster response plan, organize disaster prevention and control and search and rescue drills at all levels close to the actual local situation to improve the capacity of command, management and response when incidents occur.

Focus on information and propaganda work, especially propaganda on grassroots radio systems, social networks, posters, leaflets, etc. Increase information provision; share and exchange knowledge and experience on natural disaster prevention and control and search and rescue, etc. so that all levels, sectors and people know and proactively prevent and respond.

Organize on-duty shifts strictly according to regulations; regularly monitor and update weather and natural disaster situations, proactively respond promptly to all situations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment inspects, reviews, and evaluates the current status of the dike system and irrigation works before the flood season, paying special attention to dike incidents that occurred in 2024; promptly repairs and overcomes damage and degradation of the dike system, dams, disaster prevention and control equipment, etc., ready to ensure safety when floods occur in 2025, especially focusing on carefully reviewing works affected by storm No. 3 in 2024.

Prepare plans for dike protection and response plans in case of storms and floods; coordinate with districts, cities, and Irrigation LLCs to develop key protection plans for 2025.

The Provincial Military Command and Provincial Police are ready with forces, vehicles, equipment and tools to support localities in responding to incidents, natural disasters and organizing timely and effective rescue.

The Department of Industry and Trade develops plans and strategies to reserve goods, fuel, food, essential foodstuffs, etc. to provide adequate supplies in case of natural disasters, ensuring the lives of people in affected areas.

The People's Committees of districts and cities shall review and update local disaster response plans and options; develop key dike protection plans in 2025, paying special attention to incidents that occurred during the 2024 storm season...
