Proactively develop plans, scenarios and operating mechanisms to respond to natural disasters

On the afternoon of July 21, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam inspected the response work to storm No. 3 at the Cua Gianh fishing boat storm shelter area in Bac Trach commune.

By 3:00 p.m. on July 21, 8,106 vehicles/25,104 workers of Quang Tri province had anchored in safe shelters. There were no more vehicles of Quang Tri province operating in the Gulf of Tonkin . In other sea areas, there were 161 vehicles/697 workers operating. The vehicles had received information about the storm and were moving to shelters or escaping from dangerous areas.

After directly inspecting the Cua Gianh fishing boat storm shelter area, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam highly appreciated the proactiveness of the functional forces in responding to storm No. 3. At the same time, he requested the forces to continue to closely monitor the developments and path of the storm to proactively prepare response plans. Absolutely do not be subjective or negligent, especially dangerous weather patterns at sea, such as: Storms, big waves; guide and arrange boats at the anchorage areas to ensure safe distances, avoid collisions and damage. Focus on ensuring security and order, preventing and fighting fires and explosions at the anchorage areas.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized: Quang Tri province has entered the rainy and stormy season, therefore, departments, branches, units, functional forces and localities need to proactively review the province's disaster prevention and control plans and scenarios in 2025 after implementing the 2-level local government organization model, in which, clearly assigning people, tasks and responsibilities; proactively providing resources, equipment and human resources for disaster prevention and control; building timely, flexible and effective operating mechanisms for disaster response plans and scenarios according to the "4 on-site" motto. The Provincial Military Command urgently and proactively advises and urges the establishment of provincial and commune-level Civil Defense Commands in accordance with the Government's direction.
