Comrades: Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics , Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Hoang Anh, Director of the Department of Science Management, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Dang Quang Dinh, Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics co-chaired the workshop.
Speaking at the workshop, comrade Nguyen Manh Hung stated: Vietnamese socialism is the result of the process of creative application and development of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, built on the foundation of national historical and cultural traditions, while absorbing the quintessence of human civilization. This model develops with specific characteristics, reflecting the objective requirements of the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland in the specific conditions of Vietnam. In which, typical Eastern values play a fundamental role, contributing to creating a unique identity for Vietnamese socialism.

Eastern culture emphasizes harmony, stability, respect for community, social discipline and the harmonious combination of rule of law and morality. When applied to the construction of socialism, these values have strengthened the great national unity, promoted sustainable development, ensured national security and preserved cultural identity. The harmonious combination of the scientific nature of Marxism-Leninism, the profound humanity of Ho Chi Minh's thought and Eastern cultural values has created a model of Vietnamese Socialism - both of contemporary stature and imbued with the national soul and Eastern culture.
The workshop focused on clarifying the theoretical and practical foundations of socialism; at the same time, comparing the common values of socialism with Eastern values in the model of Vietnamese Socialism. On that basis, many important and useful orientations were suggested to serve the work of building and perfecting the Draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

The conference unanimously affirmed the lasting value of scientific socialism founded by K. Marx and F. Engels, developed and realized by V. Lenin; at the same time, emphasized the need to supplement and develop theory in the context of profound changes in the world, especially from practical lessons of realistic socialist models in the 20th century.
The workshop analyzed in depth the harmonious combination of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought with the national historical-cultural tradition and practical conditions of Vietnam, thereby forming a socialist model with strong Eastern identity.
Many opinions at the workshop also focused on identifying Eastern values that have been transformed into the Vietnamese Socialist model, such as: Community spirit and the principle of “people-first”, emphasis on harmony-stability-sustainability, promotion of humanity-ethics, combining the rule of law with the rule of virtue and building social consensus. These values interact harmoniously with modern elements of the development model, especially the socialist-oriented market economy model, the socialist rule of law state and socialist democracy.

Analyzing in depth the core values and corresponding institutionalization mechanisms of a humane and harmonious socialist model with Eastern identity, comrade Dang Quang Dinh affirmed that socialism is oriented towards building a fair, democratic and civilized society - where people are guaranteed their legitimate rights and have conditions for comprehensive development. Eastern identity adds moral depth to this model with the ideology of valuing stability, consensus, order and humanity, helping to reduce conflicts and strengthen community cohesion. That blend creates a solid humanistic foundation, in which development does not come at the expense of injustice or division but aims at balancing interests and preserving ethical values.
The spirit of Eastern harmony also supports the process of socialist-oriented modernization by encouraging moderate behavior, respecting differences and putting the common interest first. Combining the rule of law with the rule of virtue helps the governance system not only ensure procedural justice but also foster substantive justice, so that every public decision is linked to the dignity and interests of the people. This strengthens social trust, creating a stable environment for reform and integration in the context of rapid transformation of the times.
The workshop proposed many important research directions, including building a framework for comparing universal values and specific Vietnamese values; a mechanism for absorbing and localizing the quintessence of humanity; solutions for spreading values internationally; and the requirement to perfect the model of Vietnamese Socialism in a direction that is both theoretically profound and capable of operating effectively in practice.
