On April 14, doctors at the Andrology Center, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Hanoi , said they had admitted a 29-year-old man (residing in Nam Dinh) to the hospital due to a fall that caused a testicular injury and a large hematoma and swelling.
The patient was brought to the Andrology Center by his family in a state of testicular trauma and massive swelling and hematoma.

Through information exploitation, the patient had an accident on his wedding day. While having fun and dancing with friends on the wedding day, the groom climbed on a chair and fell, hitting his lower body on the chair. Afterwards, his scrotum and penis were bruised, swollen and very painful, so his family took him to the emergency room.
The patient underwent emergency surgery and removed about 300 grams of blood clots from the scrotum, with ruptured bulbocavernosus muscle and ruptured corpus cavernosum. Doctors cleaned and carefully sutured the damaged areas to stop bleeding.
After 5 days of postoperative care, the patient's condition was stable and he was discharged from the hospital.
Can men with testicular trauma recover?
According to many studies, the group of patients with testicular trauma who were treated with testicular-conserving surgery did not have significant changes in spermatogenesis and endocrine function. In contrast, the group of patients who had orchiectomy surgery had a significant decrease in sperm count.
Early detection, comprehensive assessment of the injury and timely treatment play a very important role in helping patients avoid complications requiring testicular removal and quickly return to normal life.

Care for men with testicular trauma
After treatment, patients are often advised to rest and relax. Because after the injury, the scrotum has suffered a very strong impact and needs time to recover. Therefore, at this stage, patients should limit strenuous exercise and sex.
In addition to resting, men should also relax and be comfortable. This also helps the testicles recover faster, stabilizes the mind and protects the injured area from external forces.
Men need to be alert to testicular trauma
Testicular injury is something no man wants to experience. However, some men may be more susceptible to injury if they engage in the following behaviors:
People who often climb, play sports , and do strenuous exercise. People who often play soccer, golf, basketball, etc. are more susceptible to testicular injuries. Therefore, you should exercise moderately and carefully; protect the scrotum as well as other sensitive areas.
People who often have rough and improper sex can lead to injuries to the male penis and testicles. Therefore, you should have sex properly to avoid injuries to the genital area.
Men who want to limit injuries should pay attention to protecting their scrotum when participating in strenuous activities. In addition, men should also learn more basic knowledge to protect and provide first aid if there is an injury to the scrotum.
