Mr. Hai was fined for not complying with regulations in cases where the fishing vessel monitoring device is broken or cannot transmit information and data from the fishing vessel to the fishing vessel monitoring data center while in operation for fishing vessels with a maximum length of 24m or more. The administrative penalty for this violation is 200 million VND.

In addition, the authorities also fined Mr. Hai's fishing boat for violating the rule that a fishing boat with a maximum length of 15m or more did not dock at a fishing port listed in the list of designated fishing ports for offshore fishing boats to dock to unload seafood, with a fine of 3.5 million VND. The total fine is 203.5 million VND.

In addition to the main penalty, the authorities of Ca Mau province also applied an additional penalty of revoking the right to use the fourth-class captain certificate of fishing vessel CM-93969-TS for a period of 9 months.

Previously, at 3:05 p.m. on February 10, the IUU Song Doc Office received information that fishing vessel CM-93969-TS had docked at the port to complete documents to go out to sea for fishing activities.

Through checking and comparing information on the fishing vessel monitoring system of the Department of Fisheries, it was discovered that the fishing vessel CM-93969-TS's monitoring signal lost connection for more than 6 hours at sea four times during the voyage from January 4 to 24, 2025.
