President Luong Cuong: Need to further expand the number of individuals and groups working for the community

NDO - Meeting with 100 typical examples in the program "Kindness" of Vietnam Television on the afternoon of April 16, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong affirmed the need to further expand the models of sharing and helping those around, and to expand the number of individuals and groups working for the community, because we really need more hearts and minds like the 100 typical examples at the meeting, creating positive energy sources, spreading love throughout society.

Also attending the meeting were Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Party Central Committee members: Le Thanh Long, Deputy Prime Minister; Le Khanh Hai, Head of the Office of the President ; Nguyen Dac Vinh, Head of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Social Affairs; Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and representatives of leaders of a number of central departments, ministries and branches.

Since its broadcast on Vietnam Television in 2014, the program "Kind Deeds" has recorded more than 2,500 stories about people silently doing good deeds.

Thousands of small, simple stories have been conveyed to the audience by “Kindness” in a colorful, realistic, and vivid way, spreading beautiful actions and kind things to the community. Not only recording and retelling meaningful stories of giving, creating a bridge between the giver and the receiver, but what is even more valuable is that over the past 10 years, “Kindness” has also spread the message of life, faith in love and humanity, and at the same time inspired more and more noble acts in society across the country.

At the meeting, many typical examples with good deeds spoke and shared their touching stories such as: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khang, Chairman of the Board of Marie Curie School (Hanoi), devoted to the cause of education , is an inspiring example of kindness, currently adopting 23 orphans of Lang Nu (after storm No. 3 (Yagi) in 2024); Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong and her husband opened a shelter to take care of 102 lonely, sick, homeless elderly people; Mr. Nguyen Trung Chat, a war invalid, founder of the Hope Center, adopted and cared for 305 orphans; singer Nguyen Thi Hoa, who actively participates in volunteer activities...

Speaking at the meeting, President Luong Cuong expressed his joy at meeting the typical figures of "Kindness", people who, with their kindness, sharing and warm hearts, have contributed to making life more beautiful, meaningful and worth living.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President would like to send his warmest greetings, best wishes and best regards to the delegates, distinguished guests and those who are silently contributing kindness and goodness to the community every day.

Moved to see that each person, regardless of position, big or small, is trying their best to contribute and build Vietnam into a more civilized and prosperous homeland, the President affirmed that the 100 typical faces at the meeting are very beautiful and real flowers in everyday life, bringing feelings and loving actions to the less fortunate, sharing and cherishing them with kind hands.

As an audience member, the President said he had watched the program "Kindness" of Vietnam Television many times and expressed his impression of seeing the interest of the people, especially young people, paying great attention to the news spreading love, the beautiful actions that people show to each other, no less than the hottest news on social networking platforms today.

The President affirmed that all the people and stories in the program are positive catalysts, stirring up empathy and love in each person; at the same time, he said that in each person there is compassion and caring for others as an instinct and the typical faces and actions in the program have contributed to making that instinct spread widely, developed and much more effective.

Pointing out that taking care of meritorious people, the poor, the disabled, and the vulnerable in society, not leaving anyone behind is the consistent policy of the Party and State, the President emphasized that, along with the care and concern of the Party and State, the cooperation of kind hearts and the support of "Kindness" figures is very important, because they are the people closest to the most difficult circumstances, and their help is also very friendly and sincere.

The President said that it is necessary to further expand the models of sharing and helping those around us, and to expand the number of individuals and groups working for the community because we all need more hearts and minds like the 100 shining examples at the meeting, creating positive energy sources and spreading love throughout society.

Emphasizing that our country is striving to have social security activities basically cover the entire population by 2030, the President said that in the coming time, the State will perfect institutions and laws, especially social work, and can promote and develop "social work profession" to develop social work more and more widely to take better care of the people.

The President also suggested that we must find ways to continue the journey of kind people because many of the characters in the program are old, some are sick and need the next generation, young people to do kind deeds. This is also a good morality, a thousand-year-old tradition of our country.

The President requested Vietnam Television to coordinate with the Standing Committee and functional agencies of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council and localities to actively introduce typical examples of good people, good deeds, and exemplary acts of kindness, so that the noble actions of typical examples can spread widely and be multiplied more and more throughout society, as beloved Uncle Ho taught, "a living example is worth more than a hundred propaganda speeches", contributing to using beauty to eliminate ugliness, using goodness to repel evil, urging the community to act together, creating an increasingly beautiful, affectionate, and humane society.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President highly appreciated and commended Vietnam Television and its accompanying units for actively and proactively implementing the "Kindness" program over the past 10 years, spreading more than 2,500 stories of kindness, along with many other humanitarian and charitable programs.

At the same time, the President hopes that the program "Kindness" of Vietnam Television will further promote its role, seek more characters and role models across the country, to spread widely to all people of the country; so that good deeds can spread like "a hundred flowers blooming" to make the country prosperous, society developed, and people happy. When examples of good people and good deeds are spread in society, it will urge the community to take action, contributing to building a beautiful, civilized, and happy Vietnam.
