President Luong Cuong visits and wishes a happy new year in Phu Quoc

Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and the Central delegation visited and celebrated Tet in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province.

President Luong Cuong visited and extended New Year greetings to a number of armed forces units stationed in Phu Quoc City.

On the morning of January 14, in Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang Province), Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and the Central delegation visited and extended New Year greetings to a number of armed forces units stationed in the area. At the same time, the Central delegation offered flowers and incense at Ho Chi Minh Square, offering New Year greetings to the Party Committee, government and people of Kien Giang Province and Phu Quoc City.

Also accompanying the delegation were Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; Party Central Committee member, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and leaders of Kien Giang province.

President Luong Cuong expressed his joy at the results and achievements that the Party Committee, government, and people of Kien Giang province have achieved in the recent past, especially in 2024. The President highly appreciated the efforts of Phu Quoc City, a key locality of Kien Giang province. Under the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and sectors, the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Quoc City have overcome many difficulties to complete the goals and tasks set out at the beginning of the year.

The President affirmed that Kien Giang has a very important strategic role and position in many fields, from economy, politics, tourism to national defense and security. With such potential and advantages, the President requested Party committees and authorities at all levels to continue to focus on leadership, direction, and thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws. At the same time, it is necessary to maintain and promote the achievements that have been made, resolutely overcome the limitations and shortcomings of 2024.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President sent his sincere regards and best wishes for the New Year to the officers and soldiers of the armed forces stationed in Phu Quoc City and on duty in the southwestern sea of the Fatherland.

The President requested that the armed forces on duty in the southwestern sea and Phu Quoc City focus on thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th Central Committee, Session 8, on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation, especially new thinking and awareness on national defense. Always be vigilant, prevent plots and tricks of hostile forces; promptly detect and promptly resolve arising issues, avoid being passive and surprised in any situation.

The President directed the armed forces to continue to closely coordinate with local Party committees and authorities, directly the authorities of Phu Quoc City and Kien Giang Province, in managing and protecting sovereignty at sea, preventing and combating crimes, and effectively stopping fishing vessels and fishermen from violating foreign waters.

Play a core role in protecting the Fatherland and people's security, promote mass mobilization and propaganda about seas and islands, rescue work, support fishermen, especially in offshore areas, become a solid support for fishermen to go offshore, stick to the sea, and protect the sacred seas and islands of the Fatherland.

The President requested units to continue to improve the effectiveness of defense and security diplomacy, in line with the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and in accordance with reality. At the same time, focus on building a clean and strong Party organization in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres; and carefully and closely prepare for the successful organization of Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.

On this occasion, the President and Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee presented gifts to 20 policy families, poor households, 20 workers and laborers in Phu Quoc City.
