(Chinhphu.vn) - On June 23, the Standing Committee of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee held an online meeting at the commune level (new) to prepare for the ceremony to announce the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of An Giang province in 2025 and the decision to establish Party committees of communes, wards, and special zones under the new An Giang Provincial Party Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Kien Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai said that Kien Giang province has issued a specific plan to organize a ceremony to announce the National Assembly's resolution on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units and the Central Government's decision on the establishment of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee; a ceremony to announce the National Assembly Standing Committee's resolution on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units and the decision to establish Party committees of communes, wards, and special economic zones under the province, to be completed on June 30.

Accordingly, the announcement ceremony for the provincial level starts at 8:00 a.m. and for the commune level starts at 3:00 p.m.

At the provincial ceremony, decisions to end the activities of the Party Committees of Kien Giang and An Giang provinces will be announced; decisions to establish a new Party Committee of An Giang province will be announced; decisions to appoint personnel for the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Secretary, Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee; key positions of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Inspection Committee and the Chairman of the Inspection Committee will be announced...

According to Nguyen Tien Hai, Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee: The Standing Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee has assigned members of the Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, and leaders of departments and agencies to attend the announcement ceremony in communes, wards, and special zones.

At the same time, it is requested that localities develop detailed program scenarios and coordinate closely with assigned officials to ensure that the ceremony is conducted solemnly and according to protocol, creating a positive impression in the hearts of the people and the community…

* Also on the afternoon of June 23, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province and the People's Committee of An Giang province jointly held a meeting to listen to reports and review the arrangement of working offices, means of transport, accommodation and other conditions to ensure operations from July 1 of the system of Party, government and mass organizations under the merger of the two provinces of An Giang - Kien Giang.

According to leaders of Kien Giang province, the offices of provincial-level agencies after the merger are basically sufficient, but need renovation and repair. Existing assets will be utilized for machinery, equipment, and furniture.

The report states that, following the merger, 2,228 officials and civil servants from An Giang need housing in Kien Giang, of which 903 have registered for official housing, while the rest are renting. Kien Giang has proposed three options for housing allocation, including rental housing.

To reduce traffic congestion, costs, pollution, and accidents, departments and agencies of Kien Giang and An Giang provinces have proposed an electric bus route to serve officials and civil servants after the merger.

Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong requested departments and branches to urgently review and supplement headquarters equipment before July 1 to operate normally after the province's merger. The Department of Finance completes the report, handles surplus assets and coordinates in building financial reports, public investment, and socio-economic development plans of the two provinces.
