This activity is part of a series of events under the Vietnam-Cambodia Border Trade Connection Forum in An Giang province, from December 10 to 14.
During the training course, participants received an overview of the Vietnam-Cambodia border trade infrastructure, its current state and orientation ; the potential and opportunities for developing border trade infrastructure in An Giang province; strengthening management capacity in the sustainable development of Vietnam-Cambodia border trade infrastructure while ensuring domestic consumption; and combating smuggling and trade fraud at border checkpoints, presented by representatives from the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and the Department of Industry and Trade of An Giang province.

According to data from Vietnam Customs, in the first nine months of 2025, imports and exports through border gates between Vietnam and Cambodia reached US$5.9 billion, an increase of 15.5% compared to the same period in 2024.
Currently, the "one-stop shop" mechanism has helped reduce customs clearance time and increase the flow of goods between the two countries, especially in the Moc Bai - Phnom Penh, Tinh Bien - Takeo, and Ha Tien - Kep economic corridors.
Nguyen Duy Linh Thao, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of An Giang province, presented the potential and opportunities for developing border trade infrastructure in An Giang province.
Regarding planning and investment attraction, provinces such as Tay Ninh, An Giang, and Dong Thap have included logistics centers, bonded warehouses, and supermarkets/commercial centers in their planning, opening up opportunities for socialized investment and attracting large enterprises to participate. In addition, the long border with many international border gates (Moc Bai, Xa Mat, Tinh Bien, Khanh Binh, Ha Tien, etc.) has the potential to become a "trade gateway" connecting Vietnam and Cambodia with other ASEAN countries.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of An Giang province, the province's border trade infrastructure currently includes 17 operational border markets; 5 border gates, of which 3 are international border gates. In addition, there is a developed system of shopping centers, supermarkets, warehouses, loading and unloading services, and transportation.
With these potentials and advantages, the total value of goods imported and exported through the land border gates between An Giang province and Cambodia has increased by an average of 12.7% per year. The total import and export value through the border gates between An Giang and Cambodia reached 1.09 billion USD, of which exports accounted for 464.4 million USD.
Businesses from the Kingdom of Cambodia are introducing their products to businesses in An Giang province.
