Many schools proactively allowed students to stay home due to heavy rain.

On the morning of December 10th, heavy rain in Phan Rang ward caused localized flooding in several areas. To ensure the safety of students, staff, and teachers, many educational institutions in Phan Rang ward proactively suspended classes that afternoon. Specifically, 4 out of 4 secondary schools and 6 out of 9 primary schools switched to online learning; 1 kindergarten and 2 primary schools suspended classes and will hold make-up classes later.

Many other educational institutions, such as Chu Van An High School, Phuoc My 1 Primary School (Bao An Ward), Phan Chu Trinh High School (Vinh Hai Commune), Phuoc Khanh Primary School (Ninh Phuoc Commune), etc., also proactively allowed students to take time off from school and organized make-up classes later. Mr. Truong Minh Tam, Principal of Phan Chu Trinh High School (Vinh Hai Commune), said: “Due to heavy rain and flooding of the schoolyard and nearby roads, the school allowed students to take time off from the third lesson on the morning of December 10th. Local authorities assisted students in safely returning home. The school elevated its property and proactively allowed students to take the afternoon off. Currently, the school continues to monitor weather developments and reminds subject departments to prepare lesson plans, equipment, and internet connections for online teaching on December 11th if the rain and flooding continue.”

In Phuoc Hau commune, Ms. Le Thi My Lien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, said: "Due to heavy rain and to proactively respond to the water release from reservoirs in the commune, on the afternoon of December 10th, the People's Committee of the commune requested all schools from kindergarten to junior high school to suspend classes to ensure safety and organize make-up classes later. The People's Committee of the commune and the schools will continue to closely monitor the developments of the rain and floods to implement appropriate teaching plans to ensure the safety of students."
