Strongly promote and spread awareness of gender equality.
Annually, the People's Committee of An Giang province directs departments, agencies, and organizations to develop plans to implement directives, resolutions, and action programs related to Party building and socio-economic development, with particular emphasis on conditions and targets to promote the role of women in the fields of politics , economics, culture, and social life.
Propaganda work on gender equality, prevention of domestic violence, and child care and protection has been carried out extensively. Many important contents such as reducing child marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority areas, introducing social welfare services and support for victims of gender-based violence are regularly disseminated.
Conferences, seminars, training sessions, and regular activities are held throughout agencies, units, and schools. Communication work is promoted on occasions such as International Women's Day March 8, Vietnamese Family Day, and Domestic Violence Prevention Month, etc.
An Giang's newspapers and broadcasting stations maintain regular features on gender equality and the advancement of women; commune-level radio stations receive annual support to promote grassroots communication. As a result, social awareness of the Law on Gender Equality, and the rights and status of women is increasingly being raised.
Narrowing the gender gap and increasing opportunities for women.
The integration of gender equality content into the province's socio-economic development plan has been carried out seriously and effectively.
Women in An Giang are present in almost all fields, from economics, culture, and society to political activities. The number and quality of female cadres from the provincial to the grassroots level are constantly increasing. Many Party and government agencies at all levels now have young female leaders, demonstrating a positive shift in the development of cadre resources.
Annually, the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality develops a plan for inspection and monitoring. Agencies and units integrate gender equality content into their professional duties and promote awareness campaigns tailored to their specific circumstances. Businesses also pay more attention to policies for female workers, contributing to the creation of a sustainable and humane working environment.
According to the People's Committee of An Giang province, key indicators such as the percentage of the population accessing basic knowledge about gender equality, the employment rate, the percentage of violence victims receiving support, the percentage of perpetrators of violence receiving counseling, and the percentage of ethnic minority children completing primary and lower secondary education... have all been achieved at a high level . Gender equality work has been implemented comprehensively across the fields of economy-labor, education-training, health...
Clearly effective in preventing gender-based violence.
A notable highlight of An Giang province is the effectiveness of its models for preventing and responding to gender-based violence. The province has developed a model for "Preventing and mitigating the harm of gender-based violence" in the districts of Cho Moi, An Phu, Tri Ton, and Tinh Bien. This model has significantly reduced violence while raising community awareness about building happy, progressive, and equal families.
The province also replicated the model of "trusted address - temporary shelter" in new rural communes; established "Sustainable Family Development" Clubs in hamlets and villages; and promoted communication about the hotline 18008077 to prevent human trafficking and gender-based violence.
Notably, the Sunshine House model has been put into operation to support women and girls who have suffered violence, creating safe accommodation, providing legal and medical advice and support. This is an important step forward in the province's social work service system.
At the same time, the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence (November 15 - December 15 every year) is maintained continuously, with many creative communication activities, aiming to change behavior in the community.

Strengthening leadership and improving coordination effectiveness.
The achievements of the past five years are thanks to the attention and guidance of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee through many timely administrative documents on the work for the advancement of women and gender equality. Coordination among departments, agencies, and organizations has become increasingly close, creating a synchronized action network from the provincial level to the grassroots.
Many activities and programs have been continuously implemented, ensuring the connection between propaganda-support-monitoring-evaluation. Thanks to that, the goals of the National Strategy on Gender Equality in An Giang have been implemented in the right direction, creating a foundation for the next phase.
The province aims to continue implementing the gender equality program with greater effectiveness in the future. The focus will be on improving the quality of social media communication, strengthening support services for victims of gender-based violence, developing female staff, expanding safe models for women and children, and ultimately ensuring equal rights for all citizens.
