President Vo Van Thuong arrives in Beijing, begins program to attend BRF

President Vo Van Thuong arrived at Beijing International Airport to begin his participation in the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF).

According to VNA, at around 11:30 a.m. on October 17 local time (around 10:30 a.m. Vietnam time), President Vo Van Thuong led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to Beijing International Airport, starting the program to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) at the invitation of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.

This is a working trip to China and also the first multilateral foreign activity of President Vo Van Thuong in his new position.

Welcoming President Vo Van Thuong and his delegation at the airport, on the Chinese side were Chinese Minister of Housing and Urban and Rural Construction Ni Hong and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hung Ba.

On the Vietnamese side, there were Ambassador of the Vietnamese Embassy in China Ning Chenggong, officers and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.

In particular, the welcoming ceremony also featured welcoming dance and singing performances by many Chinese youth, teenagers and children.

According to the scheduled program, at the 3rd BRF, President Vo Van Thuong will attend the opening ceremony of the forum; attend a high-level meeting on the topic of digital economy ; and have bilateral meetings with leaders of a number of countries and international organizations attending the forum.

Also within the framework of the program, in Beijing, President Vo Van Thuong is expected to have meetings with senior Chinese leaders and receive leaders of leading Chinese corporations in the fields of technology and telecommunications.

In the context of the complicated and unpredictable international situation and profound changes in the world economy, the third BRF participation of President Vo Van Thuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation is a practical activity to consistently implement the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization, diversification, proactive and active international integration comprehensively, extensively, flexibly and effectively; at the same time, conveying the message of Vietnam as a friend, reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community, contributing to peace, stability, development and cooperation in the region and the world.
