During the visit and working session in Nagasaki province, Japan, on the morning of December 7, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife, along with a high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly, laid a wreath in memory of the victims of the Nagasaki atomic bomb at Hoa Binh Park and visited the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum.
Also attending was Mayor of Nagasaki City Suzuki Shiro.
Sharing with Mayor Suzuki Shiro and leaders of the Museum and Peace Park about the losses and pain that Nagasaki has experienced, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that all people in the world wish to live in peace, without war.
The National Assembly Chairman informed the Mayor of Nagasaki City that recently in November 2024, in the capital Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, as a special guest of the host country, the National Assembly Chairman attended the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP 11) with the theme "In search of peace, reconciliation and tolerance".
Here, the National Assembly Chairman made an important speech, affirming: Vietnam is a peace-loving nation with a tradition of tolerance, humanity and peace; having gone through many wars for national independence and unification, Vietnam especially cherishes the value of peace, stability and friendship so that every citizen can enjoy independence, freedom, prosperity and happiness.
After laying a wreath in memory of the atomic bomb victims at Peace Park, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and his wife and the high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of our country visited the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum.
Here, the National Assembly Chairman wrote: "Vietnam is a peace-loving nation and always hopes that the peoples of the world will work together towards peace, prosperity, and development."
Nagasaki Peace Park was built in 1955 to commemorate the victims of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945.
Currently, the Park is displaying works and artworks contributed by many countries, expressing sympathy and empathy for the pain and loss that the Japanese people have experienced, while also demonstrating the tradition of loving world peace.
The Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum is located within the Peace Memorial Park, home to the Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses artifacts from the victims and remains of destroyed buildings.
