On the morning of August 7, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with Speaker of the Thai House of Representatives Wan Muhamad Noor Matha on the occasion of attending the 44th AIPA General Assembly in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha on being approved as Speaker of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand and hoped that in his new position, the Speaker of the Thai House of Representatives will continue to contribute to the relationship between the two countries.
The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the increasingly deep and substantial development of the Strategic Partnership with Thailand.
The two leaders were pleased to note that the friendship and good cooperation between the two countries have been continuously strengthened and developed. Economic cooperation has deepened with Thailand being Vietnam's largest trade partner in ASEAN and the second largest investor in ASEAN.

In 2023, the two countries will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership. The National Assembly Chairman suggested that agencies of the two countries strengthen coordination and promote the implementation of the "Three Connections" initiative, including supply chain connection; economic, business and local connection; connection of sustainable growth strategies, striving to soon achieve the target of bilateral trade turnover of 25 billion USD.
The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the Thai National Assembly continue to facilitate the Vietnamese community in Thailand and support the development of Vietnamese culture in Thailand as a basis for strongly promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Wan Muhamad Noor Matha congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements; highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Thailand to Thai society and the friendly relations between the two countries.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives affirmed that the Thai National Assembly and Government will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living and working in Thailand.

The two sides also agreed that the two countries' National Assemblies should increase the exchange of high-level delegations and at all levels, and enhance exchanges and cooperation between specialized agencies of the two National Assemblies.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue invited the Thai National Assembly to send a delegation to attend the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians to be held in September in Hanoi.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully invited Speaker of the House of Representatives Wan Muhamad Noor Matha to visit Vietnam at a suitable time. Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha happily accepted the invitation and confirmed that he would visit Vietnam.
