To successfully organize the conference, for nearly 2 months, the City Labor Federation has directly grasped the situation at the grassroots level, issued ballots to collect opinions and recommendations from workers through grassroots trade unions.

As a result, up to now, the Organizing Committee has received over 500 comments and recommendations from worker delegates and grassroots trade unions.

According to the reporter, workers especially hope that when there are social housing projects in the city, they should be notified to workers through the City Labor Federation, Trade Unions at all levels and information can be publicly posted on the iHanoi application, electronic information portals of the City People's Committee or the People's Committees of communes/wards. Thus, everyone has access to information, workers can register on the Hanoi City Public Service Portal to buy social housing.

Regarding life and employment, workers hope that the City People's Committee will have policies to increase the size of junior high and high schools to meet the need for workers' children to study.

Along with that, the authorities have increased strict handling of units and enterprises that violate the law with employees, such as: not signing labor contracts, owing wages, owing social insurance... affecting the welfare of employees, especially during maternity and childcare. The Government and relevant ministries and branches should study increasing annual holidays and Tet at appropriate times.

Workers also proposed to consider adding two more days off for National Day (from September 2 to 5), creating opportunities for workers to take their children to school on the first day of school.

Workers also reported that the city is lacking cultural and sports facilities for workers to exercise after work, such as badminton and table tennis courts.

Regarding the implementation of policies for workers, many opinions say that after abolishing the district level and rearranging the commune level, many agencies and units will be dissolved or merged, leading to changes in personnel structure. Therefore, the surplus of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers is inevitable. There needs to be a reasonable solution to rearrange personnel to ensure the apparatus operates effectively, without causing major disruptions and to facilitate career transitions and create new jobs for cadres who are redundant after the rearrangement.
