The conference focused on evaluating results, shortcomings, limitations, causes and solutions to ensure traffic order and safety, and recommending solutions to overcome shortcomings.
In the first quarter of 2025, the whole province had 67 traffic accidents, killing 41 people and injuring 30 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 6 fewer cases (67/73), the number of deaths remained unchanged (41/41), and 6 fewer injuries (30/36). 2,389 patrols and inspections were organized; 21,151 vehicles were stopped and inspected. 5,522 violations were recorded, 2,443 vehicles were temporarily detained; 4,606 cases were fined with a total amount of over 13.12 billion VND, and 548 driving licenses were temporarily revoked...
Concluding the conference, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung proposed to strengthen the leadership of the Party Committee, the government, and the entire political system to synchronously and comprehensively implement solutions to enhance traffic order and safety, reducing all three criteria of the number of cases, deaths and injuries due to traffic accidents. The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, the Department of Construction, the Provincial Police, agencies and units have specific solutions to implement the instructions to ensure traffic order and safety; regularly review and propose effective solutions. In particular, strengthen patrols, control, and resolutely handle violations, regardless of the subject, including alcohol concentration violations. The Provincial Police coordinated with An Giang Newspaper, An Giang Radio and Television to publicly post a list of vehicles violating fines through camera system monitoring.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Motor Vehicle Inspection Center and the Driver Training and Testing Center strictly and strictly implement regulations; resolutely handle violations... In particular, strengthen propaganda and dissemination of laws on traffic order and safety in a diverse, direct manner, through the press and social networks. The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee proposed that the Provincial People's Committee have a plan to thoroughly handle "black spots" that have potential for traffic accidents; effectively prevent traffic congestion.
