Preparing for archaeological excavation at Lac Cau site

Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has permitted the exploration and excavation period from May 9 to 31, 2025. The exploration and excavation will take place on an area of ​​80 square meters. Of which, the exploration area is 20 square meters and the excavation area is 60 square meters.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recommends that during archaeological exploration and excavation, the licensed agency should pay attention to protecting the stratigraphy of the relic; and be responsible for educating the people about the protection of local cultural heritage.

The relics collected during the archaeological exploration and excavation process, the Management Board of Monuments and Quang Nam Museum (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam ) are responsible for preserving and maintaining the artifacts to avoid damage or loss and reporting to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on plans to protect and promote the value of those artifacts.

At the same time, after completing the archaeological exploration and excavation, the Quang Nam Monuments and Museum Management Board must have a preliminary report and propose a plan to manage and protect the archaeological exploration and excavation area.
