On the morning of October 24, in Hanoi , the Central Steering Committee to celebrate major holidays and important historical events of the country in the 3 years of 2023-2025 held its first meeting. Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat, Head of the Steering Committee chaired the meeting.

Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Dinh Tien Dung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; comrades of the Party Central Committee, comrades of the Steering Committee and localities and units with related events.

At the Conference, comrade Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, said that immediately after receiving the opinion of the Central Party Secretariat on commemorating major holidays and important historical events of the country in the 3 years of 2023-2025, the Central Party Committee established a Central Steering Committee with the Standing Member of the Secretariat as Head of the Steering Committee. Along with that, the provincial Party Committees, city Party Committees, Party Executive Committees, Party Delegations, and Party Committees directly under the Central Party Committee have also established Steering Committees and Organizing Committees to help Party Committees lead and direct the organization of propaganda and commemorative activities to ensure compliance with the direction of the Secretariat and the guidance of the Central Propaganda Department. In particular, the specific and detailed assignment of each event and activity is associated with the responsibilities of each level, branch, agency, and unit assigned to preside over and coordinate the implementation to ensure the correct content and consistency in content and form of implementation.

The practice of propaganda work to celebrate major holidays and important historical events in 2023-2025, especially events taking place in the first 8 months of this year, shows that ministries, branches and localities have directed and implemented seriously, regularly, with focus and key points, in many vivid forms, with high quality and efficiency; integrated with the propaganda of the mid-term results of the 13th Party Congress, the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, patriotic emulation movements, political events of the country and localities... contributing to creating an atmosphere of excitement, trust and competition among cadres, party members and people.

According to the Steering Committee, in the 3 years 2023-2025, our country will have many important events, including 5 national events by 2025: 70 years of Dien Bien Phu victory; 95 years of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; 50 years of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; 135 years of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday; 80 years of the successful August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Along with that is the celebration of the founding anniversary and traditional day of the central departments, ministries, branches and organizations at the national level, including 3 events: 70 years of the Liberation Day of the Capital; 80 years of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security and 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection; 80 years of the founding day of the People's Army and 35 years of the National Defense Day.

Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, spoke about preparations for the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

Up to now, in general, the leadership, direction and organization of propaganda activities to celebrate major holidays and important historical events in the 3 years of 2023-2025 have been seriously implemented from the Central to the local level. The Central Propaganda Department has closely followed the direction of the Secretariat to direct the implementation of assigned tasks, ensuring early and timely implementation. Coordination work has been closely and synchronously deployed from the Central to the local level. Agencies assigned to preside over and coordinate the organization of major activities have promoted their roles and responsibilities, proactively performing their assigned tasks well.

Reporting on the preparations for the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, said that the leadership, direction and preparation for organizing propaganda activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory were closely directed, seriously and responsibly implemented; the agencies, units and localities assigned to preside over the work have promoted their roles and responsibilities, proactively coordinated and implemented the tasks in accordance with the plan and instructions of the Central Propaganda Department. Up to now, the overall projects and plans for organizing propaganda activities to celebrate the event have been basically completed by the agencies and units, and are being submitted to competent authorities for comments.

However, the Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee also said that the province is currently facing some difficulties such as: Resources to arrange for propaganda activities to celebrate and invest in the construction of works to welcome and serve the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, especially from the budget of Dien Bien province are still difficult; many urban and cultural traffic infrastructure works in Dien Bien Phu city are degraded, limited in scale, leading to difficulties and limitations in ensuring good service for the celebration activities. In addition, the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield National Special Relic with 45 component relic sites are spread across many areas, belonging to many administrative units of the province.

At the meeting, each member of the Steering Committee and representatives of the leaders of agencies, departments, branches, localities and units with related events spoke to clarify specific tasks in the coming time related to each event.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Steering Committee, praised the efforts of all levels and sectors in the past time in closely following the direction of the Secretariat, successfully organizing many important events of the country, each sector and locality.

The Head of the Steering Committee emphasized that the celebration of major holidays is an opportunity to deepen historical and traditional values, educate revolutionary ideals, foster national pride and solidarity, thereby contributing to consolidating and fostering people's trust in the cause of national renewal and international integration under the leadership of the Party to build an increasingly prosperous and happy country.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai requested awareness of the organization of events and anniversaries with the right stature, scale and profound national significance. Through the commemorative propaganda activities, it contributes to promoting the strength of great national unity, creating high unity within the Party, social consensus to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; encouraging the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army to strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, determined to successfully implement the resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

On that basis, he noted that the presiding units must be proactive in their assignments and closely coordinate with departments, ministries, branches and localities. The Central Propaganda Department, with the responsibility of presiding, plays a connecting role and urges implementation.

The Head of the Steering Committee also requested that relevant departments, ministries and branches coordinate closely and remove difficulties in each specific task to ensure that the celebration of major holidays is successful according to the requirements of the Secretariat.

Regarding the Dien Bien Phu victory anniversary, comrade Truong Thi Mai emphasized that this is not an event of Dien Bien province alone but a common activity of the Party, the State, the nation, and the Northwestern provinces. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on organizing a solemn anniversary ceremony, in accordance with its historical significance and stature; related activities including repairing, renovating, building new works, giving gifts, etc. need to be carried out practically and specifically, ensuring savings and aiming towards the people.

Along with the preparation for the anniversary, the Standing Member of the Secretariat requested that Dien Bien province continue to promote the direction of implementing political tasks, economic development, and taking care of people's lives...
