( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of October 15, in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the Steering Committee meeting to approve the content of the preparation for the 10-year review of the implementation of Resolution No. 689-NQ/TW of the Central Military Commission. Attending the meeting were Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; and representatives of a number of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.

Implementing the direction of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee on organizing the summary of 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 689-NQ/QUTW dated October 10, 2014 of the Central Military Commission on prevention, control, overcoming consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, rescue - relief to 2020 and the following years, the competent agencies have proactively deployed the preparation of documents, papers and central reports for the summary. Based on the reports of agencies and units in the whole army, the Department of Rescue - Relief coordinated with agencies and units to draft a report summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 689-NQ/TW of the Central Military Commission and organized to seek opinions from relevant agencies and units. Accordingly, the draft report affirms that in recent times, the work of preventing, combating, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, and search and rescue in the entire army has undergone comprehensive and strong innovation and achieved many important results.

Before October 25, 2024, the drafting agency will complete the draft, report to the competent authority for comments, and submit it to the Head of the Ministry of National Defense for approval.
