Stock market on December 15th: Foreign investors resume net buying, but the VN-Index still closes in the red.

During the trading session on December 15th, a cautious sentiment prevailed in the Vietnamese stock market; however, buying pressure emerged in some large-cap stocks, helping the VN-Index recover slightly and temporarily escape the pressure of a sharp decline. At the close of the session, the VN-Index fell 0.88 points (-0.05%), to 1,646.01 points.

Market liquidity decreased sharply compared to the previous session, with a total trading volume of over 811 million shares across all three exchanges, equivalent to a total trading value of over 20,701 billion VND.

Foreign investors resumed net buying across all three exchanges, totaling over 662 billion VND, focusing on stocks such as TCX (168.96 billion VND), VIX (153.94 billion VND), HPG (135.28 billion VND), VPB (103.53 billion VND), SSI (94.99 billion VND), etc.

Conversely, the stocks that saw significant net buying in this session included VIC (VND 246.76 billion), MBB (VND 88.96 billion), MSN (VND 75.06 billion), MWG (VND 73.13 billion), VCB (VND 56.77 billion), etc.

On the HoSE exchange, the trading value in this session reversed sharply downwards compared to the previous session, reaching over 15,865 billion VND.

In this session, the stocks that contributed positively to the VN-Index's increase of 8.53 points included: VPB, TCX, BSR , VNM, VRE, GAS, HPG, HVN, STB, and GVR.

Conversely, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index, causing it to drop by 8.46 points, included: VPL, VHM, VIC, LPB, GEE, VPX, MBB, MWG, EIB, and KDH.

In terms of sectors, software stocks showed mixed performance in this session, rising 0.02%, mainly driven byFPT , HPT, SBD, etc. A few stocks declined, including CMG and ELC.

The securities sector stocks were mostly in the green this session, rising 1.19%, mainly driven by TCX, SSI, VND, HCM, VCI, MBS, BSI, CTS, VFS, IVS… Conversely, a few stocks declined, including VPX, FUEVFVND, FTS, DSE, E1VFVN30, VDS, ORS, DSC, AGR…

The banking sector stocks traded mostly in the red, closing down 0.03%, mainly driven by MBB, LPB, HDB,SHB , VIB, SSB, MSB, EIB, OCB, ABB… A few stocks rose, including CTG, VPB, ACB, STB, NVB…

Real estate stocks were mostly in the red this session, falling 0.68%, mainly due to declines in VIC, VHM, KSF, KDH, NVL, PDR, DXG, TCH, SIP, NLG, CEO, DIG… Conversely, gainers included VRE, KBC, CRV, VPI, SJS, IDC, SNZ, DXS, SZC, QCG, VC3…

Energy stocks were mostly in the green this session, rising 3.28%, mainly driven by BSR, PLX, PVS, PVD, PVT, PVC, GSP, TVD, AAH, HLC, PPT… Stocks that declined included VTO, VIP, POS, MDC…

The materials sector stocks were mostly in the green this session, rising 0.08%, mainly driven by HPG, GVR, DGC, PHR, HT1, DPR, CSV, AAA, DHC, HGM, PTB… Conversely, declining stocks included MSR, KSV, DCM, DPM, NTP, VIF, TVN, DDV, PRT, PAT, GDA…

Insurance stocks traded mostly in the red, closing down 0.07%, mainly driven by BVH, BIC, VNR, etc. A few stocks rose, including PVI, MIG, BMI, PGI, etc.

Retail stocks performed negatively, falling 0.54%, mainly due to declines in stocks like MWG, HUT, DGW, HHS, PET, SVC, CTF, PSD, TCS… Conversely, gainers included PNJ, FRT, VVS, HAX, PEG, HTC…

* The Vietnamese stock market index was in the red today, with the VNXALL-Index closing down 3.74 points (-0.14%) at 2,763.15 points. Trading volume exceeded 724.885 million units, equivalent to a trading value of over 19,289.45 billion VND. Across the market, 153 stocks increased in price, 102 remained unchanged, and 221 decreased.

* On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index closed at 249.37 points, down 0.72 points (-0.29%). Total trading volume reached over 64.55 million shares, with a corresponding transaction value of over 1,284.27 billion VND. Across the entire market, 59 stocks increased in price, 67 remained unchanged, and 73 decreased.

The HNX30 index closed down 3.74 points (-0.7%), at 527.1 points. Trading volume reached over 50.54 million units, with a corresponding value of over 1,118.49 billion VND. Across the market, there were 7 gainers, 7 unchanged stocks, and 16 losers.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 118.55 points, down 0.71 points (-0.6%). Total market liquidity reached over 61.77 million shares traded, with a corresponding trading value of over 674.5 billion VND. Across the market, 102 stocks increased in price, 82 remained unchanged, and 118 decreased.

* On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 0.88 points (-0.05%), at 1,646.01 points. Trading volume reached over 684.86 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND 18,742.88 billion. Across the entire exchange, there were 126 gainers, 60 unchanged stocks, and 188 losers.

The VN30 index rose 2.81 points (+0.15%) to close at 1,869.84 points. Trading volume reached over 288.17 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of over 10,446.26 billion VND. At the end of the trading day, 15 VN30 stocks increased, 6 remained unchanged, and 9 decreased.

The top 5 stocks with the highest trading volume were HPG (over 23.93 million units), SSI (over 18.66 million units), VPB (over 18.3 million units), VRE (over 11.73 million units), and BSR (over 11.53 million units).

The top 5 gainers were C32 (+6.99%), QCG (+6.82%), STG (+6.81%), VDP (+6.81%), and VNG (+6.74%).

The 5 stocks with the biggest price drops were BBC (-7%), HID (-6.97%), VPL (-6.977%), HII (-6.94%), and SVI (-6.93%).

* Today's derivatives market saw 298,248 contracts traded, with a value exceeding VND 55,827.16 billion.
