Join hands to ensure social security

In recent times, the Long Tuyen Ward Youth Union, Can Tho City has focused on implementing many practical projects and tasks. Thereby, contributing to the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to build the locality to become more and more developed.

Ensuring social security in the area is one of the key activities that the youth of Long Tuyen ward focus on implementing. Specifically, on the occasion of the recent Mid-Autumn Festival, the ward Youth Union coordinated with the Medical Faculty Youth Union, Nursing - Medical Technology Faculty Youth Union, Nam Can Tho University and Can Tho Vocational College Youth Union to organize many Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children in difficult circumstances.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Long Tuyen Ward Youth Union, said: “With the theme “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival”, Mid-Autumn Festival 2025, the Ward Youth Union organized an art program, presented 100 gifts to children at Long Tuyen Kindergarten; presented 50 gifts to children at Thien An Social Protection Facility; visited and presented gifts to 10 children in difficult circumstances, affected by Agent Orange”.

Previously, in August 2025, Long Tuyen ward youth coordinated to carry out the youth project "Beautiful school for children" at Long Tuyen 2 Primary School. Thereby, the ward Youth Union coordinated with the Youth Union of Bach Khoa University, Can Tho University to build a playground, a soccer field, a reading corner, with a total amount of 120 million VND. Ms. Lac Thi Hue An, Principal of Long Tuyen 2 Primary School, shared: "I am very grateful and appreciate the hearts of the union members, youth and students as well as the sponsoring unit to carry out this meaningful project for the students. The project contributes to making the school landscape more clean, beautiful and spacious, while creating a learning space, encouraging students to be creative and love going to school".

In addition, Long Tuyen Ward Youth Union organized activities in response to the 6th "Green Sunday" and the "Make the world cleaner" campaign in 2025, at Long Hoa 1 Primary School. Youth union members, youth and students of the school participated in cleaning the school grounds, planting trees, taking care of flower beds and promoting environmental protection awareness, reducing plastic waste. This activity contributes to creating a "green - clean - beautiful" landscape, spreading the spirit of green living, sustainable living and raising community responsibility, especially among young people, in environmental protection.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu added: “In the coming time, the ward Youth Union will continue to promote the spirit of vanguard and volunteerism for community life of union members and youth in taking care of the material and spiritual life of the people, especially students and children in difficult circumstances. At the same time, regularly clear bushes and green tree branches that obscure the view on the roads. Thereby, actively contributing to the completion and improvement of the criteria for civilized urban wards, ensuring social security in the area”.
