Ms. Tran Thi Diep (58 years old), in Tan Phong village, Pho Phong commune (Duc Pho town), has an extremely difficult life. Her marriage was not perfect, so Ms. Diep raised her two children alone. More than 6 years ago, Ms. Diep's youngest son developed a mental illness, making her life even more difficult. Due to her poor health, Ms. Diep could only collect straw for a broom production facility every day to have a few tens of thousands of dong to spend on food and medicine for her children. When the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Pho town supported her to build a new house, Ms. Diep could not contain her emotions. Because her wish to have a new house to replace her old, dilapidated house had come true.

Looking at the new house that was about to be completed, Ms. Diep shared, I have always dreamed of having a solid house to replace my old dilapidated house. However, my family's current situation makes it difficult to build a new house. Therefore, after receiving support from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Pho Town to build a new house, I am so happy that I cannot describe it. It has been a long time since I felt happiness in my life.

Despite the difficulty in moving, Ms. Le Thi Suong (83 years old), in Ky Tan village, Thang Loi commune (Mo Duc), was very excited to show us around her house. Ms. Suong received 30 million VND from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to repair her damaged house, helping her no longer to be afraid during the rainy and stormy season. "I am very happy with the care and concern of the government and the community when they helped me have a solid house that can protect me from the sun and rain. At my old age, living alone like me, this support is the motivation to help me live a happier and healthier life," Ms. Suong confided.

Mrs. Suong's solid house is the result of the joint efforts and fierce participation of the local political system, especially the volunteer spirit of union members and youth.

Previously, despite the erratic weather, the union members and youth in Thang Loi commune did not mind the difficulties, but actively participated in transporting materials, helping Ms. Suong quickly complete the house repair.

Thang Loi Commune Youth Union Secretary Le Tuan Anh shared that in response to the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the Commune Youth Union joined hands with the Fatherland Front, local associations and organizations to organize orange sales to raise funds for the district's temporary and dilapidated house elimination fund. In addition, local cadres, union members and youth have carried out 3 campaigns, with 50 working days, to support the repair and construction of new houses for poor, near-poor households and policy families. The participation and contribution of the commune's youth not only helps the needy have solid and safe houses, but also contributes to spreading andeducating the younger generation about the tradition of mutual love and support.

In the Son Ha highlands, these days, the face of the countryside has changed a lot. In all the villages here, the atmosphere of house construction and repair is bustling and urgent. Many poor, near-poor households, and policy families have fulfilled their dream of owning a solid and safe house. This is thanks to the participation of the entire political system, local associations and organizations.

Son Ha District Farmers' Association is one of the units that actively responded and did well in mobilizing cadres, members, and farmers to contribute money and working days to build and repair temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households in the locality. Son Ha District Farmers' Association has mobilized 25 million VND to give to 5 households with difficult housing conditions, eligible for support to repair and build new houses. In addition to mobilizing funds, cadres, members, and farmers of Son Ha District also contributed nearly 500 working days to dismantle houses and transport materials.

According to Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Son Ha District Tran Dinh Vu, although the lives of members and farmers are still difficult, when the locality has a policy of contributing to eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the spirit of mutual love and support is promoted and spread widely. Many members and farmers, although busy with farming work, have enthusiastically put aside their personal affairs for the common policy of "leaving no one behind" of the Party and State. "Supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses is not simply repairing and rebuilding new houses, but also demonstrating the spirit of community solidarity, contributing to creating motivation to help people escape poverty and move towards a better future," Mr. Vu expressed.

According to statistics, farmers' associations at all levels in the province have actively responded and contributed more than 740 million VND and nearly 1,200 working days to support the repair and construction of 227 new houses for poor farmers.
