New chapter in Vietnam-Kazakhstan cooperation in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation

The two Ministers exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation under the witness of General Secretary To Lam and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

This is the first time the two sides have signed a cooperation agreement, laying the foundation for the development and implementation of specific project programs on digital government , smart cities, ICT industry, aerospace, and connecting technology businesses of the two countries .

Previously , Minister Nguyen Manh Hung had bilateral working sessions with the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Space Industry of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Science andEducation of Kazakhstan.

At the working session with Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Space Industry of Kazakhstan Madiyev Zhaslan, both sides shared development policies and orientations, discussed cooperation priorities, and jointly implemented a number of initiatives such as co- organizing the ASEAN - Central Asia Digital Forum , seminars on smart cities and online public services , and digital business forums in each country.

At the working session with Minister of Science and Education of Kazakhstan Nurbek Sayasat , the two sides discussed policies to promote and improve the effectiveness of scientific research, especially at universities. The two sides agreed to strengthen the network connection of research facilities, share information and implement joint research projects in priority areas.

Regarding the development of artificial intelligence (AI) , the two Ministers spent a lot of time discussing approaches and solutions to best exploit the opportunities of the AI ​​revolution for countries like Vietnam and Kazakhstan, focusing on developing specialized AI , AI used specifically for specific problems and applications. popularize AI , make AI a subject in universities .

The two sides agreed to coordinate with relevant agencies to soon establish a Subcommittee on Science and Technology Cooperation, creating a mechanism to promote specific cooperation activities in the future .
