The crew of the program "Aspiration to Live" visited Canh Tien. She had just returned from the hospital and was in poor health, so she could not participate in the outdoor program. |
Ms. Hong left her hometown of Hai Duong to start a business in Da Kia commune, hoping to work hard to stabilize her life soon. But her dream had not yet blossomed when in 2015, her husband passed away from nasopharyngeal cancer, leaving her alone with three young children: Bui Duy Nang Vang (2005), Bui Duy Nam (2007) and Bui Duy Canh Tien (2011).
Despite her poor health, Ms. Hong did not dare to rest. During the day, she worked as a hired hand, and at night, she worked hard to scrape cashew nuts to make ends meet. Feeling sorry for her hard-working mother, Nang Vang had to drop out of school early, work as a factory worker, and help her mother raise her younger siblings. The poverty had not yet passed, but disaster struck again. In April 2025, Canh Tien was diagnosed with terminal lymphoma. While taking care of her younger sibling in the hospital, Duy Nam was also diagnosed with lymphadenitis.
A family suddenly fell into despair. No assets, unstable income, exhausted… Ms. Hong did not know how to save her children from the jaws of death.
