Dynamic economic development
Coming to Ban Thach Parish, what impressed us the most were the smooth asphalt and concrete roads, and the spacious houses built between the villages and hamlets. Not long ago, few people could imagine that this semi-mountainous, barren land could have such a strong bounce and become as prosperous as it is today.

Mr. Bui Van Ky - Chairman of the Pastoral Council of Ban Thach Parish explained: "In the past, people here almost only grew rice, had no other source of income, so life was difficult, lucky enough to have enough to eat every day. In recent years, thanks to the dynamism in economic development, people have had more industries, jobs and sources of income, from which, life has been increasingly improved and enhanced, the appearance of the hamlet and village has really changed".
Mr. Bui Van Ky took us to Son Thuy village, visiting the carpentry workshop of Mr. Ngo Tri Suu's family. Mr. Suu is one of the earliest households to invest in a carpentry workshop, with a full range of carpentry machinery and equipment worth hundreds of millions of dong, serving the needs of people in the area.

Thanks to that, his family earns hundreds of millions of dong each year, allowing him to build a spacious house and buy amenities to serve his life. At the same time, he creates regular jobs for 5 workers with a stable income and helps people in difficult circumstances.
Not far from Mr. Suu's house is Mr. Hoang Van Loi's family, who is famous for making vermicelli and cakes in Ban Thach Parish. Every day, Mr. Loi and his wife produce vermicelli and sell it at Thanh Khe market, meeting the needs of people in neighboring villages and hamlets.
Mr. Loi and his wife also invested in raising dozens of pigs, each litter bringing in tens of millions of dong. Making noodles, cakes and raising pigs has provided the family with a stable source of income, allowing them to save up to build a house for their children.
Currently, the parishioners of Ban Thach Parish have truly diversified their industries and occupations. Along with rice cultivation, they have invested in raising livestock and poultry on a large scale following a farm model towards commodity production, bringing in high income.
Notable households include Mr. Pham Van Hieu (village 1) and Mr. Hoang Van Huong (village Yen Linh) with a model of raising thousands of pigs and chickens, earning hundreds of millions of VND/year. In addition, people also promote the development of carpentry, purchasing agricultural and forestry products, transporting goods and providing services.

At the same time, many families have created conditions for their children to learn a trade, work in industrial zones, and go abroad to work. According to statistics, there are currently more than 80 workers working abroad and many are completing procedures to go abroad, promising to bring a large income to their families and contribute to building and developing a rich and beautiful homeland.
Actively build new countryside
Along with economic development and income improvement, the parishioners of Ban Thach Parish have also actively contributed manpower and resources to the construction of new rural areas, contributing to changing the face of the countryside. Notably, the movement of donating land to build roads is outstanding. The spacious and clean roads running through the villages and hamlets today have received significant contributions from the parishioners. Many households have voluntarily donated land, donated trees and moved fences inside, ready to sacrifice personal interests for the collective interest.

A few years ago, many sections were very narrow, not meeting the standards of new rural roads, especially the section through Son Thuy village. Faced with this situation, the Party Committee and the government of Thanh Khe commune (old) coordinated with the Pastoral Council of Ban Thach Parish to mobilize parishioners to donate land to open roads; many people were willing to donate land, trees, and move fences to widen the inter-village road.
For example, the households of Mr. Phan Van Phuoc, Mr. Hoang Van Hai (donated 100m2 ), Mr. Nguyen Van Son (donated 80m2 ), Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (donated 50m2 )...

In addition to donating land, parishioners also contributed nearly 6 billion VND, helping the whole commune build 32 km of concrete roads to serve travel needs and change the face of the countryside.
In the period from 2023 to 2024, some villages have a policy of encouraging self-governing groups to mobilize themselves to build new rural areas, including building concrete roads. Many households have contributed labor and money to actively participate. Typically, Mr. Dinh Van Hua's household donated 58 million VND; Mr. Nguyen Van Tin's household donated rice fields for the self-governing group to build concrete roads.
Thanks to the active efforts, the economy of households has gradually improved, the face of the countryside, parishes, and congregations has changed significantly, the number of well-off and rich households has increased significantly, many families have purchased many living amenities and valuable means of economic development such as cars, excavators, stamping machines, and rice harvesters.
With the tradition of mutual love and support, the parishioners have actively participated in charity and humanitarian work. The Association, the Parish Charity Group and the parishes have raised hundreds of millions of dong, providing timely assistance to those in difficult circumstances, the sick and the ill.
In addition, people contributed labor and materials to help households with housing difficulties repair and build new houses. Typically, they helped Ms. Pham Thi Chinh, a disabled parishioner, a poor household, living alone with no support, build a "Dai Doan Ket" house worth 200 million VND; supported the construction of houses for Mr. Tran Van Bang and Mr. Nguyen Van Hop, each house worth 70 million VND. Supported the livelihood of Ms. Nguyen Thi Quy's family, a household with especially difficult circumstances, with a livelihood of 15 million VND...
Over the years, the parishioners of Ban Thach Parish, Hoa Quan Commune have promoted the spirit of solidarity, helped each other develop the economy, eradicate hunger and reduce poverty; been proactive in production and business; actively responded to the movement to build new rural areas. Thanks to that, all aspects of life have been improved, the appearance of the homeland has become more and more prosperous, Ban Thach Parish was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee for its outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, living a good life, and following the religion in the period of 2020 - 2025".
